    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DALLAS - It's not Dirk Nowitzki's call whether the Mavericks put together a sign-and-trade for Erick Dampier. He's not going to insist the team re-signs Steve Nash.

    But the Mavs' franchise player does want to know what's going on and to offer his opinion on deals and moves that affect his team. If the Mavs listen, fine. If not, he's fine with that, too.

    "It got to the point the last couple years where they were asking me about things," Nowitzki said Thursday from Richland College, site of one of the Mavs' summer camps for kids.

    "Not that my opinion would have changed anything if I would have said don't do it. They probably still would have done whatever they felt was the right thing to do for this organization. They at least ask me and I feel involved, and that's a good thing."

    Nowitzki withdrew from the team some last summer after Nash decided to sign with Phoenix. He kept contact to a minimum until it was time to report for training camp.

    The departure of his best friend stung, but Nowitzki understands the business side of the NBA. As the Mavs move forward into another off-season, Nowitzki has a much better feeling about the future.</div>

    The Dallas franchise love Dirk beyond beleif. Mark Cuban and Nowitzki share the same views and are very close friends. I`m not suprised seeing the star putting in his say on most of the moves and the franchise himself. Maybe Dirk can become a great GM or president of a team in the future... (-;
