The Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center does the same for people of disability. The BOEC was one of several Colorado organizations named Thursday to split $165,000 donated by the Avalanche and Nuggets community funds, in accord with the McCormick Tribune Foundation. "It's an honor for us," said Jennifer Sloan, a year-round activities coordinator with the BOEC. "In the summer season, we do things like rafting, high-ropes course and team building. We've been in operation since 1976." The grants go to nonprofit organizations for espousing what the donors say is a belief in "teamwork, sportsmanship, character building, health and active lifestyles and accessibility to people of all abilities."
