They took it as a slap to the Nuggets.

"At least one player from the Nuggets should have made it," Miller said. "We're eight games over .500. Guys are working hard, and you don't reward one player from this team? You reward guys that are doing OK, but haven't played half the season?" Said Carmelo</div>

Its not fair that the Nuggets have no one going to the all-star game they are one of the better teams and the west and have such a improved record how can no one go to the All-Star game especially Carmello.

They have a right to feel insulted. I mean, clearly the MIP team, and not even ONE all-star. I was dissapointed.

Carmelo not yet, like LeBron they need experience first. Not getting picked is like a form of increasing their maturity as it is like a great loss. I do agree though, who would you have gotten? I would've wanted Camby but there are other centers better then he is even when he's healthy. I'd want Miller or even Leonard. Leonard's become one of my favorites, what a shooter!

Why are they insulted? The teams with allstars generally have other players that are all mediocre or sub-par (look at the Magic). The Nuggets should be able to take pride in the fact that they have a lot of above average players who just aren't allstar calibre yet. Really, who besides Melo could have been an allstar anyway?

I don't even think Melo could have been an allstar this year, unless he was voted in. 19 points 6 boards and 3 assists? I don't think so. There were others that were more snubbed than Melo for sure.

You can make a arguement for Miller but 16pts 4 brds, 6assts? I think Nash should be chosen over Miller, if not Brand.

I think Melo just wants to get into the Allstar game bad and he thinks he's better than the people that are there which he could be....but not this year

Wow this one of the most ignorant postings i have seen in a while. Why are they insulted? Because they are one of the better teams in the west. comparing them to the slackers of the league is not right they are 10 times better than the magic. marcus camby could have gone to the all star game.

I can understand Carmelo Anthony not making it. Although he was close to being voted in, like LeBron was, as well, they're just not ready. They're not All Stars yet, but they will be, so they should chill.

Andre Miller is pissed because Ray Allen made it. Had there been no Ray Ray, Miller would've been the reserve in his spot.

Yea Marcus Camby could have gone to the all-star game because there isn't alot of good centers in the league. And Miller, you can't just look at stats. He's a great player and a underated pg.
You can't have a player going to the all-star game just because they are on a winning team.

I said that most teams with a single allstar player, have other players that are average or suck. Looking at the Nuggs, most of their players are above average, but not allstar quality. I was actually complimenting them. Don't let your bittnerness impair your ability to read.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> marcus camby could have gone to the all star game </div>Stop being silly. Or are you not aware of the fact that the Nuggets are in the west? How could he have possibly made it when there are center like Shaq, Yao, and Brad Miller. The coaches wouldn't have chosen him because he only plays 27mpg. Besides, he is putting up worse stats than Jamaal Magloire.

I'm sorry but I have to agree with Trailblazer. How is his post ignorant? It may be ignorant to some Nuggets groupies out there but he speaks the truth. Who would you put Melo or Miller over in the allstar game? Melos time will come and so will Millers but not this year. Just because a team has a good record doesn't automatically grant one of their players into the allstar game.

The plain fact is that there were more deserving people other than Melo and Miller who DIDN'T make it.

    Oh and Camby an Allstar....LMAO

Come on the guy had a 5x5 this season. The only other player to do that this season is Ak47.It's not that easy to get at least 5points, 5rebounds, 5blocks, 5steals and five assists. So give him a chance,he's getting ony 27.8mpg and he's averaging 7.9ppg, 2.46bpg, 1.28apg and 9.90rpg.
I know those aren't all-star caliber stats but it's pretty good.
So I know now that he isn't all-star material.

I completely disagree with Carmelo's bashing of Kirilenko. Maybe he should realize that +3 points/game on worse shooting doesn't make you an All-Star over someone who does everything else better than you.

I saw Carmelo's quote and agreed with the fact that AK isn't an allstar. However Melo's argument was ridiculously weak. He basically said "why is AK an allstar over me? Just because he gets more rebound and assists?" lol.

i think having a will to win in a player's game is what separates from a good player to a great player... i think kirilenko has but his teammates lack that that's why Utah is a .500 team... but Melo's Nug is better only because his teammates are also committed to winning... not only him... so I agree AK over Melo

But maybe Ray Allen pick was one of the worst decisions out there... I'd pick Melo over Ray for this season

Melo was the 3rd highest voted Forward in the West. Even Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, & Kenny Smith all said Melo should have even STARTED on the all star game. The all left Lebron off the their all star starters (except Magic).
