Wow what a game and what a shot by Kareem Rush for the win with 3 seconds left. Nuggets got robbed on that call though, it was very clear in the replay that the ball hit the rim before the 24 second violation. I was actually pulling for the Lakers to win this one, but the Nuggets got robbed plain and simple.

What a pass by Luke Walton! I just flipped over to the Rockets and Cavs game on ESPN right after the Lakers@Nuggets game ended and Luke Walton was saying how it was the greatest pass in Walton family history, LMAO.

Luke drew caused the entire defense to collapse on him leaving Kareem Rush open, what a mistake by the Nuggets. Yes it was definitely a BS call with "inadvertant whistle" but the Nuggets just gave up instead of getting back on D and playing hard and it cost them the game.

The officiating in this game was almost as bad as the officiating in the Wolves@Pistons game a few weeks ago where Billups got robbed on the game winning shot.

Carmelo slammed home the rebound, which would have given the Nuggets a four point lead if the Refs hadn't blundered.

The Nuggets shouldn't have choked the lead in the first place to have the refs make that mistake.

Wait what the hell when did this happen? Kobe tapped the ball as soon as it hit the rim, Carmelo wasn't even in sight.. Were we watching the same game?

My bad, I'm only going on what someone else told me.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">DENVER, Feb. 25 (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Lakers once again broke the hearts of the Denver Nuggets. This time, they may have had some help from the referees.

Kareem Rush sank a wide-open 3-pointer with three seconds remaining to lift the Lakers to their fifth straight victory, 112-111 over the Nuggets.

The Nuggets blew a 13-point fourth-quarter lead and have lost four straight for the first time this season. But it took a controversial call.

With two seconds on the shot clock, Denver's Andre Miller put up a shot that clearly hit the underside of the rim. Rookie Carmelo Anthony appeared to grab the rebound, but a whistle blew indicating a shot-clock violation.

The referees ruled it an inadvertent whistle, and Lakers center Shaquille O'Neal won the ensuing jump ball with 27 seconds left. Luke Walton penetrated and passed to Rush, who gave the Lakers their first lead since late in the first quarter. </div>

Carmelo didn't grab nothing, it looked like to me. The ball came up short and it hit the backboard, may have hit the side of the rim. And after Kobe heard the whistle he just casually tapped the ball in the air, then Carmelo grabbed it. Any way you put it, they weren't "robbed" by any means. That then gave the Lakers a shot to win the game, and Kareem Rush came through with the clutch 3, now give the Lakeshow credit. [IMG]

I give Denver their props, especially Carmelo Anthony and Andre Miller, they played hard till the end, but the rest of the team just looked dead out there the last 5-6 minutes of the game. Nobody was really moving around for them, they thought they had it locked, but some huge defensive plays and clutch baskets were able to put us in a position to win the game, and we took full advantage of the oppourtunity. Great efforts by both teams, but glad my Lakers could come through.

    The shot:

All I have to say is to the Denver Nuggets and their fans. EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES!!! You guys had many opportunities to beat us. Remember that 13 point lead you had in the 4th quarter? Well, if you would've held the freakin' lead, you wouldn't need the refs to make controversial calls. Go ahead, keep crying. I've had enough of it.

I never cried about it. I'm disgusted with Denver, we still should've won the game, though.

We totally got robbed... Nuggets got ROBBED!!! Miller's shot that bounced off the rim shouldn't be counted as 24 second clock violation... melo got the ball and he could have frickin easily given us a 4 point lead... that was a great shot by rush though, this guy shot the ball with composure and confidence although he rarely gets the opportunity... this guy is the next comin of Michael Redd everybody (but I guess he wants to see Kobe leaves town first)...

    it's official, Nuggets got robbed:

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">
    NBA Statement Regarding Officiating Error

NEW YORK, Feb. 26 ?- The following statement was issued by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President, Basketball Operations, in regard to an officiating error during the Los Angeles Lakers-Denver Nuggets game on Feb. 25 at the Pepsi Center:
"In last night?s Lakers-Nuggets game, official Michael Henderson stopped play by blowing his whistle to signal a 24-second shot clock violation with 27.4 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. That call was incorrect because the ball, in fact, hit the rim. Once play was stopped, the game officials made the correct ruling by resuming play with a jump ball at midcourt. This was an unfortunate call at a highly critical point in the game, and we very much regret the error."

That's from the ESPN article on the suspended official. Kobe would have grabbed that rebound if the whistle wasn't blown, so either way the Lakers would have gotten that ball. We would have called a timeout after that anyway, and it almost worked in your advantage to getting the jump ball chance. I don't know about the "foul" but if it wasn't for the whistle I think Kobe would have gotten that rebound for sure.

Well, it did hurt and it did cost Denver the game. The Nuggets definitely could've won this one if it wasn't for that wrong call.

Ok, at first I wasn't that pissed about this, but the Laker fans are starting to piss me off. Yes we blew the lead, but we still could've made this a 2 possesion game and won the game. If this were to happen to you, you would be pissed off too if everyone kept saying the same thing all over again. We got robbed and lost, it's time to move on Nugget fans. With a Duncan-less spurs team, WE HAVE TO WIN tomorrow.
