Nuggets fans have been frustrated by the 4th quarter collapses and the ocassional blowout in Texas or California this year, but everyone except the most upset fans have assumed that the Nuggets will make the playoffs. But now that the Nugget's only good 3-point shooter, J.R. Smith, is out for 4 weeks due to a knee injury he suffered during last night's blowout in San Antonio, the Nuggets may not even make the playoffs. Fortunately, the 5 or 6 teams the Nuggets are competing with for the last two playoff spots have all been having problems of their own. But if any two of them start winning alot, the Nuggets may be out of luck. The only possible replacement of the lost 3-point shooting is DerMarr Johnson, who has overall been given very little playing time this year and whose 3-point accuracy this season has been well below his career average, except for last night's game, when he was 3/3. Johnson may not even get enough playing time to try to revive his 3-point shooting, or he might get the time and continue to miss. Bottom line: the Smith injury may be the one that cooks the Nuggets for this season. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Nuggets' Smith Out For 3-4 Weeks Nuggets guard J.R. And the injuries keep on coming. Well atleast...that's more touches for AI and Carmelo right? Go DeMarr.
I think its a blessing The way he chucks up 3's. Watch 2 things happen out of this. Dever goes on a run and fieldgoal percentage goes up dramatically.
