<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Denver Nuggets The Nuggets appear to be the team most likely to make a big trade this week. Last season, their big move was to acquire Allen Iverson, with the hope that the combo of Iverson, Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby would be enough to make them competitive for the Western Conference crown. Now they're fighting just to make the playoffs in the ultracompetitive West. The Nuggets have been widely rumored to be zeroing in on a Ron Artest deal and have also been looking for a point guard. The names Andre Miller, Delonte West and Kyle Lowry have come up, among others. The Nuggets' tradable assets include roughly $8 million in expiring contracts, a first-round pick and Linas Kleiza, a young prospect who appeals to a number of teams. While the team would prefer to move Nene or Kenyon Martin as part of a big trade, their contracts look to be deal-killers.</div>
They absolutly have to find a way to get rid of either nene or kenyon martin.... judging by Nene in the playoffs (game 1 is really the only game anyone on the nuggets preformed in)..... id rather keep him... can anybody say cap space?
On paper the Nuggets did not need a big trade, I disagree with the establishment view as usual. As I have shown, the Nuggets inferior coaching costs them 2-10 wins for the season compared with what the coaching staffs of the other top teams of the West would produce if they were coaching the Nuggets. In other words, the Nuggets would not be in any danger of not making the playoffs were they not below normal in staff quality. And with a better staff directing things, almost no one would be giving them a D or an F or any other stupid grade for not making a trade, they would instead be saying the Nuggets were smart to not make a trade. You have to keep looking at the forest as you study the trees. However, I would have gladly taken Artest for Kleiza and a second round had the Kings been stupid enough to do it. The best Nuggets trade would have been Karl for any of the following: Jackson Johnson Popovich Adelman Scott (Sorry, J.R., it would be out the door for you again.) D'Antoni Sloan Ask yourself, if Karl was the coach of the Lakers, would you feel comfortable any more that the Lakers were on course for the NBA Championship? Of course not, you would be worried sick.
