Nets GM Rod Thorn is trying to get Denver forward Nene in return for Martin, but a source in Denver told Ford on Sunday that the team would not give him up. Instead, expect the focus of the trade discussions to center on the Nuggets other 2002 lottery pick, Nikoloz Tskitishvili, who fell out of favor with head coach Jeff Bzdelik last year and played sparingly. The 7-foot-1 forward is just 20 years old and has the potential to play both the three and the four.</div>

Nuggets really want him, do you think they will get him?

I dont understand how you make a guy with a 3.5ppg career avg the focal point for a trade of your only legit post player? I know the Nets want to make sure they get something for losing Martin but they just cant take anything. How about talking to the Hawks & at least getting Al Harrington out of the deal? I dont know enuff about Nikoloz Trikitishvili to down grade him. But something tells me if he is struggling to get minutes on the Nuggets over the last 2 seasons, he wont be any help to the Nets anytime soon, which makes know since what so ever seening that a lack of post players that can contribute is the main Nets problem. Nene is a project player himself but at least you know he can contribute right away, its no telling how this other guy is going to preform as a Net.

I read another article today that said Rob Thorn & the Nets still havent decided what they are going to do, so Iam still they smartin' up & make sure Martin is wearing a Nets jersey next season.

from what i have read, the nuggets are hesitating a s&t and offering kenyon a contract. nugs are worried that nets will match any offer b/c of the pressure that will be on new owner bruce ratner to keep kenyon because he told our vp and gm to keep kmart with whatever it takes (except trading kidd). ratner also said he is not a 'penny-pincher',which he has been called, and if his first move is to let kmart go,even if it is a s&t , he won't look good at all. you don't have to have a ruin rep within a month of being the owner of a team.

also, if/when denver officially offers kmart a contract, they feel that the nets could match on the 15th day and therefore the nugs money would be wrapped up for 15days and would miss out on other free agents.

there were also reports that they do not want to trade nene. obviously if a trade is going to happen, it will have to involved nene. they would rather trade thier first round draft picks ( i believe they have atleast 3, philly/clippers/wizards) and keep nene and recieve kenyon. but if you want to UPGRADE your team, you have to give something up. kmart,at this moment, is better than nene. now a few years from now nene could become better, but now he isnt. i also think that nene has a good enough upside to take a chance and try to sign kmart via offer sheet and have both of them b/c nene is obviously cheaper and does a pretty good job.

i hope denver refuses to trade nene because i think that if denver does not include nene in a s&t, then i firmly believe that we will match kmart. it will be too much pressure to not match kmart. so as a nets fan, i rather have no s&t happen because i think it gives us a better shot at keeping kmart. kmart is everything to our team, we need him and he is going to continue to improve. i know him and kiki are buds, but even kiki said if you are happy in new jersey, then stay. so maybe kenyon would deny a s&t. should be interesting in the next few days.

Melo has made it very clear that he wants Kenyon on his team.

However, the Nets have also made it clear they want Kenyon on their team next season and seasons to come. It will probably come down to one simple thing - Will the Nets match Kenyons contract? The answer: Probably yes.

If the Nug's get KMart they will be 1 of the sickest in the league! And with I think 6 1'st rounders in 2 years they are set to load up with young talent or trade for star talent .. I'm not too familiar with the team but you guys are quickly becoming the non hometown team I route for .. K-Mart with Melo and I think Andre Miller is still there .. What a team this will be! Good luck with K Mart!
