Tonight the Denver Nuggets lost to the Charlotte Bobcats in which was a very embarrasing loss to one of the worst teams in the league. J.R. Smith had a horrible night only scoring 9 points and going 1 of 9 from the arch. A.I. had a pretty good with with over 30 points but he didn't get enough help from his supporting cast. Camby and Melo both had decent games but not as good as usual and this cost them at the end. Surprisingly the Nuggets had a couple chances at the end to tie the game but just couldn't convert. If the Nuggets plan to be playing for a championship anytime soon they are going to have to beat the bad teams.
They just couldnt get defensive stops towards the end of the game. Gerald Wallace totally killed the Nuggets tonight. He was all over the place...It was the nuggetts fault that they lost this game. Carmelo took a retarted shot on the fast break when he got blocked by Wallace. After getting the long rebound, their should have been a timout called, or they should have slown the ball down to get a better shot. Instead, Carmelo takes a fast shot and gets blocked by Wallace (which was an amazing play btw).Iverson had a great night from the field tonight, but he really disapeared late in the 4th quarter. He missed alot of shots around the basket which definitely hurt the game. JR Smith played terrible as well. He was forcing alot of shots because he was trying to find a rythym all night, but it just never came to him.The Nuggetts arent quite their yet to the level of basketball that they need to be at. With all of that talent, they SHOULD be competing for around the 4th or 5th best record in the West IMO. I personally think that its just a matter of time before this team breaksout, but like moses said, if they want to be a championship contender, they are going to have to win the easy games.
Few things to say about this loss.1) We looked down. We had no energy. In the 3rd they needed to have a firecracker stuck up their asses or something. We did get some energy led by Najera and were up by 4 with 5 left in the game, then Morrison hits a 3 and they get going. 2) 'Melo wasn't 'Melo. He needs to get back to his pre fight groove. It seemed like AI had to carry the load in the game.3) What also sparked our run was switching to the 2-3. Got us some much needed turnovers, pressured their shots for the most part.4) For the majority of the game, they were driving down the lane and scoring at will. It was like we were just letting them, we wouldn't get in front of them ever. Only person stopping them was Camby as usual. Without Camby, we would be a below .500 team easy. He is our only consistent defensive stopper.5) The Bobcats have beat good teams this year. This is not rare, I gotta give it to them. They have beat the Spurs, Pistons, Lakers and I am pretty sure a few other playoff teams.6) Our last play when we were down by 3 was ugly. We gave the ball to Camby when he was behind the 3 point line. He held it for about 5 seconds and ended up having JR shoot up a prayer. It seemed like someone forgot the play or misunderstood it.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (ballerman2112 @ Jan 29 2007, 10:24 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>They just couldnt get defensive stops towards the end of the game. He did hit that pull up 3 though.- That is true, and it doesn't get any easier from here on out. They were showing that the majority of their remaining games are on the road and against playoff contenders. They MUST step up and play to their full potential. I see up coming out of the all star break much better than we are playing now.
Okay first let me get this out of me. WTF was JR thinking jacking up so many f*cking shots when he was of damn moron. And WTF was coach thinking not taking that mess out once he started jacking those shots you have got to be kidding me awful coach move to let him keep jacking away. Most of the bench out side of JR Smith were solid atleast and did not hurt the team more importantly.Melo 11-26 25 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 block. Not bad actually ah still all night it seemed like he was of a little. 5 turnovers not good, but I am sure it will go down.AI great shooting 10-15 31 points, 8 assists, 3 rebounds, 4 steals, and 1 block nice game wish he just took more shots in the 4th instead of passing letting JR jack shots of. Finally could not wait for this day to come 0 turnovers. Woopeeeeee LMAOCamby was 1-8 3 points only. But did have 10 boards, 5 assists, and 6 blocks.Ah not good, but Bobcats have beat some very good teams but still ah.And those guys need to play better D it was awful except Camby blocking all them shots. It looks at times as AI actually trys on D, but we need to get better.
