<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Nuggets, Sonics Bring Three-Game Winning Streaks Into Tonight?s ShowdownBy DAN BURCH, STATS Writer=Posted Jan 23 2007 11:45AM Print E-mail RSS Feeds E-News Sign Up Share on Facebook Supersonics Home Nuggets Home 2006-07 Stats at a GlanceCarmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson had no problems meshing together in their first game as teammates. The duo will try to help the Denver Nuggets match their longest winning streak of the season when they visit the Seattle SuperSonics on Tuesday.Anthony returned from a 15-game suspension to score 28 points in 32 minutes, and Iverson added 23 as Denver beat Memphis 115-98 on Monday. Anthony had missed the last 36 days because of his role in a brawl against the New York Knicks on Dec. 16 and the Nuggets were eager to see how he would play with Iverson, who like Anthony, likes to take a lot of shots.Anthony, who ranks first in scoring at 31.5 points per game and Iverson, who is third at 29.3 points, had no difficulty working together against the Grizzlies. Iverson set up Anthony for a finger-roll layup in the first quarter, then the pair combined on two alley-oops in the fourth quarter as Denver (21-17) put the game away."We just wanted to show the whole world we could play together," said Anthony, who had six assists and five rebounds. "We know there's a lot of doubt about that."Iverson said he has no problems sharing the spotlight and has bigger goals for the team."If I didn't feel like I could win a championship, I would retire," said Iverson, who needs six points to become the 30th player in NBA history with 20,000 points. "If I didn't think we had a shot to win it, then I would hang my sneakers up."Obviously, I believe we can win it. Get us in a seven-game series, and you have to beat us four times."The Nuggets shot only 44.8 percent from the field Monday, but reached 100 points for the fourth consecutive game after scoring that many only twice in their previous eight games.Denver, which averages 105.6 points, won five straight from Nov. 18-26.After losing 107-103 to Miami on Jan. 10 to open a season-high seven-game homestand, the Sonics will be looking for their longest winning streak of the season after victories over Utah, Cleveland and Milwaukee.Seattle (16-25) has won three straight two other times this year, but suffered close losses trying to extend the streak to four games. The Sonics won four in a row just once last season from April 2-9.The Sonics blew out the Bucks 99-72 on Friday, recording their largest margin of victory this season. Before this recent run, Seattle had lost six straight and 14 of its last 17."We had a little bit of a breather there," Seattle coach Bob Hill said. "Every game we've played this year seems like it's either not close at all or close. I thought that everyone honestly played well."Nick Collison had 13 points and 16 rebounds and Ray Allen had 21 for the Sonics, who have played well at home, with 10 wins in their last 13 games at KeyArena."We're not in any position I think to be unmotivated. Our record isn't good enough," said Collison, who has four double-doubles in his last five games. "During the course of a game there can be slippage, but tonight we avoided it."Since re-joining the starting lineup on Jan. 6 against Golden State, Collison is averaging 18 points and 13.5 rebounds.Iverson had 44 points and 10 assists as the Nuggets beat Seattle 112-98 at home on Dec. 28. Denver has won five of the last seven matchups between the teams. Copyright 2006 by STATS LLC and Associated Press. It would be great if the Nug's could end the sonics 3 game winning streak.

Thanks. Melo got 34 on his 2nd game back? Thats excellent. He and AI could workout. Allen Iverson has been getting more assists then he ever has, because now he has players he can assist to.
