<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Something happened in the fourth quarter of the Spurs' 102-91 season-opening victory over the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday that is going to frighten all the NBA coaches not inside SBC Center to see it.

Tim Duncan, the Spurs' two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, did not take a single shot in the final period, scoring one lone point in the final 12 minutes.

Nevertheless, the Spurs outscored the Nuggets 33-19.

Spurs point guard Tony Parker was brilliant in the fourth, making all seven of his shots. What made the biggest impression on the Nuggets, though, was Michael Finley, the former Dallas Maverick playing his first regular-season game for the Spurs, who sparked the fourth-period rally.

Scott Brooks, who was filling in for suspended Nuggets coach George Karl on Tuesday, saw it first-hand.

"Any time you can bring two starters off your bench, which is an oxymoron to begin with, you're tough," Brooks said. "They really have seven starters now. Nick (Van Exel) still has a lot of big shots in him; Michael is nothing but big shots; and they've still got Big Shot Rob (Horry)."

The Nuggets, who gave the Spurs a tough test in the first round of the 2004 playoffs, weren't laughing much after getting burned by Parker and Finley in the fourth. Denver is favored to win the NBA's Northwest Division, and they played the Spurs on even terms through three quarters before Finley, made 5 of 6 shots in the fourth.

Finley's presence, said Nuggets defensive standout Eduardo Najera, is going to force every team in the league to change its approach to defending the Spurs. </div>

Lol, Spurs have 2 starters + Big Shot Rob off the bench. Sounds like a pretty good situation to have.
