If the PP isn't good this year, I don't see this team being decent. I have hope for the PP because Arneil was an incompetent moron running it.

Considering taking the Preds -1.5 tonight. Preds are still one of the better teams in the West. lots of fire power. Their goaltending is above average with Rinne. Rangers have some holes/depth issues and who knows what the defense is going to look like in front of Lundqvist.
I am seeing this as a 4-1, 5-2 type of game.
Horray for sports betting in NJ!

Don't underestimate the stupidity of AV with defense. Farther the team got away from Torts, worse it got defensively. Hope this coach is a mix of AV's offense, Torts defense.

Even a point out of this game is a win.

All the imbeciles on HF and OTG did was bash Vesey all pre-season. Easily our best player on the ice not named Hank in the first. Just another example of their massive, fucking stupidity.

Rangers looking good against a very good press team still tied at one in the third. Vesey looks very good as does chitil.

    That's a goal a younger Lundqvist might've stopped.

Refs in mid season form sucking ass somehow missing a clear high stick to mcquaid in front of the net no less. Next face-off of course press score on shatty deflection . So far shatty sucks as bad as he did last season. Hope he goes at deadline also. Rangers misfiring on a lot of good scoring opportunities

They looked pretty good overall against a tough team in an opener. You can see though they lack some finishers and their defenseman suck as a unit. Howden looked very good despite the lost FO on Subbans goal. Looks like Quinn will have them playing quick and hard.

First game but the defense in front of Hank looks better. They had some defensive breakdowns but that is not surprising with a new system. Nashville is a good faceoff team and they held their own. Chytil is God awful on draws. I would rather let one of his wings try to win the faceoffs. He is not even competitive. Honestly, this is why Andersson should be on the team. He is much better on draws and can do things like that. Play wing but take the draws.

Zuccarello and Hayes still need to break the overpassing habit. Vesey looked good. They may have had a chance with a 6/4 but of course the dumb penalty and empty netter 5 seconds after the goallie gets pulled which they've trademarked.

At least they didn't get blown out. They were competitive. I thought Nashville played hard.

Yeah i thought it was a solid first game for them. They may be a little better than predicted.

Staal is solid but he needs to be moved. Same with Smith. Hajek has to play. So does Lindgren.

If Deangelo isn't good through the first few months i think they'll waive him and maybe bring Hajek up, sitting Staal/Smith some of the time. But he also needs games under his belt so maybe later in the year.
