<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>ESPN - Multiple sources have informmed ESPN.com that O.J. Mayo has told the players and coaching staff of the University of Southern California that he will commit to them.

NCAA rules forbid college coaches from commenting publicly on commitments until they receive a signed national letter of intent.

It has long been believed that the 6-4 high school standout would play for Bob Huggins, but the lure of Tim Floyd and the major media market of Los Angeles are very attractive to Mayo.

"[Mayo] could change a program and give it instant credibility," said one source. "He sees the big market and knows that he's not too far away from being marketed. [Going to USC] would only help him and he's confident enough to win a national championship."</div>
Didn't he have some sort of issue in school where he was suspended for 180 days for hitting a girl? Is he staying an extra year in high school or just going to a different school? He was only a junior this year, he's the same age as me.

Yeah he's gping into his senior year but hes still aloud to commit to a team at this agree if he wants. Im so pissed though. I was hoping for him to commit w/ Arizona so much. Its cool though I guess since we already have a ton of good recruits commited to us in that class.

I wonder if Bill Walker will follow? Either way, I want Kevin Love and Kyle Singler to go to UCLA and square off with OJ for a year, Love and Mayo is always an intense match up.

I'm a huge UA fan but I like ASU also unless theyre playing UA in something.I still dont understand why OJ chose USC though. I mean they don't even have a great basketball team. Plus when OJ gets there USC's best player will be gone which won't help.

Remember OJ won't be there until the 07-08 season.

Tim Floyd has brought back the program and they have a decent team with the one standout being Nick Young.

Yeah, it's not guarenteed that they will hang around until their senior year. That is rare in the NCAA now.

K-Love is more than likely gonna commit to UNC. Did you read the article in the paper about him the other day?On-Topic: I wonder if this effects Walker's decision on whether or not he'll go to Cincinatti, or if he'll follow O.J. Awesome for the Trojans though, Mayo is a special player, even if he is a sandwich condiment.

Don't you hate how Jerry'd Bayless withdrew his committment?
