"Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley has a self-induced and comfortable case of amnesia when it comes to the failed O.J. Mayo trade.

He didn't want to move the third-year guard.

As for Mayo's future? Well, there still are no guarantees. Only this is for certain: Everyone has moved on from the deadline trade with Indiana that never happened.

"We're in the moment with this team," Griz general manager Chris Wallace said. "Everybody is doing everything they can to get into the playoffs. The future will be dealt with when this season is over."

Before the Grizzlies try to get past the Indiana Pacers tonight in FedExForum, there will be no escaping the reminder that these teams agreed on a deal that would have swapped Mayo for forward/center Josh McRoberts and a 2011 first-round draft pick.

Indiana tried to enlist a third team (New Orleans), but the deal fell apart at the NBA's Feb. 24 deadline. None of the players changed addresses despite the deal being widely reported in the media."
