I was reading the O-live peace on Barton and Crabbe and think it would be fun (not as starters, and only in exhibition) to see this lineup: PG: Barton SG: Crabbe SF: Batum PF: LMA C: Leonard The whole group can run and dunk, the guards could be good defenders. You could see a lot of steals for fast breaks with that group.
PG: Lillard SG: Batum SF: LMA PF: Leonard C: Lopez Play zone on defense Tall as shit, quick, can shoot. I think it would be fun
Well CJ is out for a while, but I was hoping to see Dame, CJ, and Mo on the floor all at once. With LMA. And then Batum or Lopez, depending what the other team is running. Those three guards can pass and score in bunches. I think it'd be fun to see.
I can see Portland going with that lineup at the end of the game. Lots of shooting, everybody can make free throws. Who does Zach Randolph or Dirk Nowitzki guard in that lineup? I might go with Wes over Mo depending on who is playing better that night. There aren't nearly as many dominant low post power forwards as there used to be, so it's not quite such a disadvantage on the other end. Portland has always done well with running LMA at center at the end of games. It can really throw the other team's rhythm off. Besides--Aldridge doesn't seem to mind playing center when the game is on the line. He seems to hate it the other 25-30 minutes a night he plays, though.
That lineup would get slaughtered in the regular season. If we are going that direction, wouldn't you want to add HCP as the "enforcer"?
Maybe a Boise Blazer/BlazerDuck hybrid: PG: Batum SG: Crabbe SF: Aldridge PF: Leonard C: Lopez That would be a lot of length.
