Oden: There was some talk that Greg Oden, recovering from knee surgery, would play in five-on-five pickup games at the Blazers training facility this week. But general manager Rich Cho squashed that idea. Cho wants him to play 2v2/3v3/ before playing full court 5v5 and wants to ease him into coming back LMA: LaMarcus Aldridge lives in Dallas during the offeseason and has spent a lot of time working on his game and in the weight room. He has added 20 pounds and now weighs about 260. Bayno has been working with LMA on being more aggressive in the post and not relying on his fade away jumper.
I assume the added weight was muscle. Wonder if it will effect the best part of his game, his feathery jumper.
ESPN said it was 20 pounds of muscle. Supposedly hasn't effected his speed/quickness. Dunno about his jumper.
I'm sure like most every PF we have, he'll continue to drift out to the 3-point line with all that muscle.
I sure hope it helps Lamarcus confidence out in the paint. He has tools. He just needs to gain the confidence that he can play in there, and the will to do it.
No doubt, I think he's been so gifted physically that he never had to use force to play above his competition. Been quite the learning curve in the NBA, but I think he's gonna come around huge this year
so Oden plays only in the paint... right? Brandon and Andre like to drive to the hole a lot... right? Why in the world do posters continually pine for the PF to also be camped down low? I want LA to be strong and max out his talents, but I'd rather he focus more on his counters to when guys play too up on his J (being able to take guys off the dribble and finish) then his post moves. Overall the team needs him to spread the court for the effectiveness of their attack STOMP
