Has anyone thought about the possibility that Oden might not be the same when he returns? Microfracture surgery is known to take a big bounce out of your step, which is a vital part of Oden's game. I know guys like Amare came back and did just fine, but it does take a huge toll on others. Darius Miles hasn't even returned to playing since his surgery. It ended Jamal Mashburn and Allen Houston's careers, although they were nearing the end of their careers anyway. I don't in any way think his career will be over, but has anyone considered the possibility that Oden might not be... well... Oden this year?

Oden will be fine. From all the reports I have read, he said that his knee is feeling great. Surgery is no longer as dangerous as it once was, with all the new technology that has been brought up. I wouldn't be that worried

No, I don't consider that for even a second. I've watched Kenyon and Amare come back with full explosiveness after their surgeries and proper rehab (emphasis on proper rehab)

Additionally, Oden's damage was to a very small area while Miles had a lot more damage to be cleaned up.

Yeah, from what I've heard, he will be right where he was, with the addition of 20-25 pounds of muscle.
