hmmm theres a similar thread in the basketball gear forums but it was about shoes.

i think odom is smoking. he's 6'9 (not sure) but he moves like a guard, how often do u see that?

Smoking, amazing talent, seems like hes gotten things together since his time with the Clippers...I just hope he can stay healthy again this year and perform at PF, close to what he did last year in the weak East.

He has to loose all that gear though. Just stick to the kicks and maybe a wristband on each forearm.

^ I agree. When I play, too many armbands make my arms itch and it's really uncomfortable. I don't know how he does it. Anyways, he will slowly gel into LA's system and when him and Kobe get it going, watch out. In NO WAY will they EVER exceed Pippen/Jordan but they will a good duo for the league in the years to come.

Lamar Odom is a fantastic player like VanExel said, he's 6'9 and got the quicks of a gaurd, he's got ball handling skills that some PG's dont have. His Big man skills are good too he can post up and hit the midrange J and even the three sometimes. I would say that Odom is a top 25 player in the league. Odom right now is lost in the lakers offense or seems like it at times but he'll get used to it in time.

I also thought this thread was about Odom's smoking habits. Anyways I say smoking. Just give him time to click. It seems the Lakers are losening the grip and letting him do his thang.

Odom needs to find his rhythm on offense. I get nervous as hell seeing him on the perimeter shooting threes...I'd much rather have him posting down low or midrange. I love his versatility and ability to handle the ball for his height...he definitely excels when running on the fast break.

I'd honestly like to see Odom experimenting at the point one of these days.

I think that it gonna take an adjustment period for Odom playing back in the west again. Playing in the west you take away his ablity to post up small players from time to time, like he could in the east because the PF in the west are his size and alot more phsyical then they are in the east. So he cant back them down. Also he has to adjust his playing style a bit playing alongside Kobe, because he now has to play alot more without the ball in his hand, which isnt really LO style. He like the ball in his hands so he can show off his versatily & playmaking skills. But now playing with Kobe he has to make an adjustment from the playmaker to the play finisher, so thats going to take him sometime. And of course he has to adjust to playing the 4 spot on the defensive end, its alot more pyshical thats why you see him picking up alot of ticky tack fouls trying to defend guys in the post. But Lamar is extremely talented and he will adjust. You'll probably see Lamar Odom at his strongest during the 2nd half of the season.

Just wait for Odom to get used to his role. Right now, he's still adjusting to Rudy's system. Once he gets used to it, he'll get better. His stats have been on the rise over the last few games, so it's starting to look better. I'd be looking for him to start getting around 17/10 here on a consistent basis, kind of duplicating his loan season in Miami last year.

he's been a rebounding machine, so thats a + right there for the Lakers. Over 10 boards a game. SOmething the Lakers need
