The reasoning behind this negotiation is shocking. They're worried that there will be a "brain drain" because they don't pay enough and it's too expensive? What do they think Obamacare will do to small business? Fuck these people.

But last week it was gutted. Sen. Grassley, the Iowa Republican, introduced the amendment to the act. Bipartisan leadership quietly passed it without a vote and Obama signed it. Now, the top 28,000 Federal employees keep their stock trades from investigators like Open Secrets. Congressmen still have to report their stuff. I worked at a public accounting for nearly a decade. We had a profit-sharing plan. I "forgot" to invest my funds. I left during a shitty time in the market. For years, they gave me shit for not investing. When I left and saw the returns of some... Haha. I made 5-8%. Some socked away more cash during the same period and ended up with far less. Like 10% on their investment. I made out.... for being lazy. The Amerian way, bitches!!
For some kinds of "good deal" investments, you file an extra form with your 1040 to calculate gain for the year. H&R Block charges around $50 per form and CPA firms maybe $100. Subtract that from the year's gain and you don't make what you think you do.

Sunlight is indeed the best disinfectant (although it hasn't cleared up my nasty case of chlamydia). The Democrats are now dropping the idea. However, I bet each Congressional office will have a slush fund to reimburse their workers for the increased cost of their medical care or will just increase their post tax salaries by the amount of the health care increase. So. Fucking. Corrupt.
