YEAH, finally, i was waiting for this for so long. Mix feelings, lets hope that T-Mac suck it up and help the rockets to advence more in the playoff. I predict them to go as far as second round, might lose to San Antonio, but hey what does Charles Brackly and Kenny Smith said the whole time, in the playoffs, you need easy buckets(Yao) and great shooters(T-Mac).

    This deal helps both teams.

Orlando gets a much needed PG, another option on offense, and a defensive player in Cato. Playoffs could be in the picture again.

As for the Rockets - they are now in contention for a title with the addition of All-Star McGrady. The duo of McGrady & Yao should be very interesting, and I'm looking foward to watching them play.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Houston Rockets general manager Carroll Dawson announced today that the team has acquired two-time NBA scoring champion Tracy McGrady, forward Juwan Howard, and guards Tyronn Lue and Reece Gaines from the Orlando Magic. The Rockets sent guards Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley and forward/center Kelvin Cato to Orlando in the seven-player trade.

McGrady joins the Rockets after becoming just the ninth player in NBA history to win consecutive scoring titles, leading the NBA with a career-high 32.1 points per game during the 2002-2003 season and scoring a league-high 28.0 points per game this past season. In NBA history, only Wilt Chamberlain and
multiple scoring titles at a younger age than McGrady, who followed Kobe Bryant as the second-youngest player all-time to reach 10,000 career points.

A four-time NBA All-Star, the 25-year old guard leaves the Magic as the franchise?s all-time leader in both regular season and postseason scoring average, posting 28.1 points per game in 295 regular season games and scoring 32.0 points per game in 15 postseason games.</div>

T mac an Yao will be just as good as Kobe an Shaq down the road. Expect some championships from these two in the near future.

Finaly this trade has gone down I was tired of hearing Francis complaining about going to Orlando. If the magic dont make the playoffs next season then they need some serious help.

I have mixed feelings about this trade.

Francis was and still will be one of my favorite players, although he will no longer be playing on my favorite team.

I've never been a fan of Tracy McGrady. Although I have never badmouthed him, I have never praised him as well. He talks the talk by getting all these scoring titles, but doesn't walk the walk when it comes time to lead his team somewhere. I hope he gets an attitude adjustment under Van Gundy, but a worst-case scenario could happen to him, just like it did to Steve Francis. He might grow unhappy in JVG's slow-tempo offense, and with Yao in the post demanding more touches than him.

    clutch city shall rise again....
this trade is going to seriously help the rockets as long as van gundy doesnt turn t-mac into anohter disgruntled scorer who cant stand to play under his system....if this actually works out, there could be a few titles in the rockets' future...

Check out T-Mac in a Rocket jersey, lol. Looks cheesy, who's body is that? T-mac doesn't wear a black armband on his left elbow, does he?

I wonder if he'll just wear a red leg sleeve now, or just get rid of the tradition?

This wasn't a sign-and-trade right? I know I'm worried about Francis leaving us, but at least we've seen that once he gets commited to a team he doesn't want to budge. I would hope that JVG makes this work for T-Mac, otherwise T-Mac will run off elsewhere.

I'm just glad this is finally over. I like the deal for both teams, but now I think Houston needs to go find a veteran leader for the them. McGrady and Yao are great, but they aren't guys who can be a leader of a team.

Nice avatar btw DaAnswer3, Carmella DeCesare is hot!

When Jim Jackson was first signed by the Rockets, I was hoping he would be the leader we desperately needed. However, it seems that although Jackson is consistent, he is far from being a vocal guy. I think we need to sign a veteran who is a known leader, someone like Horace Grant or Charles Oakley to a one year contract. Also, Mark Jackson could be kept around, since he would mentor Gaines and Lue, two young point guards, and also throw in 10 minutes a game to stabilize the offense.

Umm.. no way Horace Grant is teaming up with T-Mac again, they're not best buds. And Oak is too old, we saw that last season.

Well Heres my thought on this trade...

1st Thoughts: Wow..T-Mac something is up with houston, signing Roger Clemens,Andy P....T-Mac to houston would be awesome

2nd Thoughts (The next day): If we loose Francis we dont have a good PG that can run the offense or do what Francis did, so we'll have to someone good/decent that can play PG. (Worried)

Day of the Trade: Excited, Got gaines for the future, lue and Juwan Howard on his way.

Francis on the other hand seems a little ticked off along with the other 2 Former Rockets.

Final Thoughts- Very happy and pleased.

    Horace Grant? Hah.

It is because of T-Mac that HG isn't with us anymore. A fight almost broke out between the two because T-Mac didn't like the fact that HG was asking him to play harder.
