I won't be able to watch the draft (work [IMG] ), but I'll be here after the draft to discuss it, and hopefully a bunch of you guys will be, too!

So the Bucks are most likely going to take Andrew Bogut with the top pick. That's not news. What I am intrigued by, however, is what we'll do with our 2nd round pick. This is a rare year in that useful players will still be on the board early in the 2nd round, and we own the #36 pick. Here's what some sites are predicting the Bucks to do with their second pick:

    NBADraft.net: PG Filiberto Rivera (UNLV)

    CollegeHoops.net: G/F Matt Walsh (Florida)

    Probasketball.about.com: F Ryan Gomes (Providence)

    ESPN.com: G/F Kennedy Winston (Alabama)

    Insidehoops.com: G Salim Stoudamire (Arizona)

Not much of a consensus, huh? But hey, it's the second round.

I think that our priority should be to grab the best player available, as it's possible that someone could drop a bit, but the positions of need we should be looking at are 1. Small forward 2. Point guard 3. Shooting guard. We need someone who can spell Mason and provide even more defense and hustle off the bench. It'd also be nice to have an insurance policy for T.J at the point, and a defender behind Redd (assuming we re-sign him) would be a good idea too.

Here are a few guys I think we should look at with our 2nd round pick:
    G/F Eddie Basden
    G Luther Head
    G John Gilchrest
    F Linas Kleiza
    G Travis Diener
    G Daniel Ewing

I'm assuming that we're going to get Redd to stay in town, and also that we'll keep at least one of Danny Gadzuric or Zaza Pachulia, which combined with Bogut and Joe Smith gives us some of the best interior depth in the East, something that no one probably would've thought possible before the Draft Lottery. This team needs some defensive help, big time. Hopefully we can add an athletic defender in the 2nd round to go with our new star in the middle. Again, I'll be on again late Tuesday night, and hopefully by then the Bucks will be well on their way back to the Playoffs!!! See you guys then, and discuss away!

p.s Who do you want to be our new coach? What have you heard?

Ronny Turiaf could also be a possibility for the Bucks. He can help the other big men on the glass. He also runs the floor well and can finish on the break. Assuming that the Bucks take Bogut, then having a second quality big man in Turiaf would also open up the outside game for Redd and Mason.

If he's still on the board when we pick, he's definitely a guy to take a long look at. He's tough, he can rebound, and he has pretty good skills for a big guy. I still feel like if we get Bogut we'll be pretty well off inside, and I really want to see us add some D on the perimeter. But Turiaf would for sure be someone to consider. I always liked him in college, and I'd love to see him in purple and green [IMG]

Linas Kleiza would be great for the Bucks, they have players for all positions instead Pf, Joe Smith is old, and Linas Kleiza would be perfect.

I'm trying not to jinx us by saying it, but I would love us to get Kleiza. I'm thinking he'll be gone before we pick, but I would just love it if we got him. I think he's gonna be a real solid player. [IMG]

    Here's his profile from NBADraft.net: http://www.nbadraft.net/profiles/ersanilyasova.asp

The only things I really know about him are that he's a really talented player who's multiskilled, but he's always hurt and like most Euro prospects, has to add strength. He's probably a similar type of player to Toni Kukoc [IMG]
