Post your ideas for the offseason. Here's mine: Sign Kennard. Scoot/VanVleet Sharpe/KCP/Harris Tou/Kennard/Murray/rookie Deni/Smith Jr Ayton/Clingan
I want to start off by saying this is just part of it cause I am stuck trying to figure out how to find a trade for Thybulle , Grant and Williams -- I feel like at least one of them have to go too Trade #1 - Blazers trade : Scoot / Ayton and Kris Murray and Swap this years draft spots - Blazers move to #13 - ATL to #11 plus 28" 1st round pick (T3 Protected) and 31" pick swap - ATL choice - Hawks Trade : Trae Young and Vit Krejci (PG) Trade #2 - Portland Trade - Ant and Reath - Magic Trade - KCPope - Harris and Corey Joseph ( Vet PG behind Trae Young ) and #26 25' Draft Will fill in who to take with picks once i figure out rest so consider this a work in progress -- LOL also Nate I like the Orlando deal and on this one thing we do think alike cause that was a deal I have in mind or was considering
Never going to happen, but... FIRST TRADE Anfernee Simons Robert Williams Kris Murray #11 To Orlando For Jonathan Issac Goga Bitadze Anthony Black #25 #47 SECOND TRADE DeAndre Ayton Matisse Thybulle #25 To Chicago For Nikola Vucevic Kevin Huerter Matas Buzelis Scoot/Black/Banton Sharpe/Huerter/Rupert Camara/Issac/Bitadze Avdija/Grant/Buzelis Vucevic/Clingan/Reath
Trade anybody you can for the best picks you can get. Excluding Scoot, Deni, Sharpe, Camara, and Clingan. *Edit* I'd also try to keep Matisse Thybulle unless he had to be included to bring back a first rounder.
Without specifics, and trying to keep it realistic, send Ant out to Orlando makes sense. Getting ROLE PLAYING vets back is huge, as well as another pick. I don’t think we’ll be able to move Ayton, but that shouldn’t stop us from moving him to Cleveland for a package that includes Allen. Like others have said, Clingan, Camara, Avdija, Scoot and Sharpe should just be given the ball.
Yeah getting a pick for Ant makes sense - I can't see us giving up #11 to dump him though. Ayton I'd love to see moved. I don't think he'll be any teams first option this off-season. But if for example the Lakers strike out on other moves maybe they would like to flip their worthless contracts for him. Or maybe Chicago moves on from Vucevic, etc. I could see some team wanting to kick the tires on him with his expiring deal. We're not getting a good player or pick back but just could get someone less entitled to shots/minutes/touches/etc. Probably more likely at the deadline though.
The more playoffs I watch the more convinced I am that Ayton offensively would be a nice player to have in playoffs. Mid range pick and pops are a great option with teams focused on 3’s and clogging the middle. Iq Ali think Sharpe could potentially be really good since he’s so effective getting mid range shots
Funny but I've come to the opposite conclusion - it's critical to have two way players that can defend. Ayton is about as bad of a defensive center as there is. Hence an unpolished rookie destroyed him in on/off numbers and even Jabari Walker as a tiny scrub center was better.
How about we just keep it real simple. Lets try to win this year. Maybe work on getting a decent role player with the pick. I don't care if that is by using the pick or trading it with another player(s) but add a decent 3 and D guy.
Yeah I think with the team for sale the Blazers will be conservative with moves. I don't think we'd give up two picks for a Deni level player this summer.
The players I listed should absolutely be doing everything they can to win. With as many other players traded for picks (or good young 1st-3rd year players) as possible.
Blazer record was 36-46 (.439). Portland was 8-4 (.667) without Simons. They were 28-70 (.400) with him They were 17-23 (.425) with Ayton; 19-23 (.452) without him. Blazers were 14-21 (.400) without Grant. They were 22-25 (.468) with him as bad as Grant was this season, his 2-way skills had a better impact than Simons or Ayton
