    OFFICIAL:"Bring Back Nick-the-Quick" Thread

Seeing as he and Derek Anderson are the first to fall from the amnesty rule, the Mavericks should be thinking about bringing this guy back. We can then have a back-court consisting of a vet and youngin' all the time.

    Gaurds combo:
    Terry/Stack
    Exel/Terry
    Exel/Harris
    Harris/Stack
    Exel/Quis'
    Quis'/Stack

I can go on and on. Come on Mavs fans, say it with me "BRING BACK NICK", "BRING BACK NICK".

I'm definately with you on this one. We do have a lot of guards on the team but he would only help us. The possibilities are endless. We could run a 3 guard lineup of Van Exel/Terry/Stack that would put up a serious amount of points. Talk about firepower.. I would make a run at him.

The minute I heard NVE was cut, I pictured him becoming a Maverick again. I remember him trying to force a trade back to the Mavs last year, and the Mavs could use NVE for added firepower and leadership. He thrived with the Mavs a few seasons ago. The only concern would be if he adopts to AJ's style of coaching the same way he did win Nellie.

"Bring Back Nick" "Bring Back Nick", no really that would be good move by the Mavs, like Shapecity said he thrived as a Mav.

His playing time would probably be cut a bit but he would still be a sold contributor. Other playoff-contending teams are going to be making runs at him also so we will really have to act quickly

The Rockets and the Lakers are the two teams i've heard as front runners, since Houstons not totally bought on Mike James as a starter and the Lakers just traded their starter at the point.

I would love to see NVE back in a Mavericks uni he would help them in the clutch which could help them down the strech.

Hehehe, maybe the Mavs-Rocks rivalry will heat up even more when they battle to sign Nick hehehe.

Nick has already expressed that he want to sign with a title contender from Texas. So the Lakers is out of the question, and the Spurs don't need him. So it between the Rocks and Mavs.

Mavs have the advantage of NVE having played with them before, and Nick may want a comeback. But The Rox have the advantage of offering more minutes to NVE.

I definitely think he is either going to one of these two teams. Let's see what happens.

I would rule out a return to the Lakers. I was reminded, he left on terrible terms and he is still hated amongst the Laker organization.

Saying that, Phil did return. Although Phil did do much more and was much more needed by LA then Van Exel.
