Lakers draft situations and scenerios Now that March Madness is here, we should use it to look at possible Laker draft picks. Here is what I am hoping: 1st pick: PG Raymond Felton- Baron Davis or Gary Payton type player 1st pick (I think we can do a trade to get another): F Hakim Warrick- Antwan Jamison type player 2nd pick: G Salim Stoudemare- Reggie Miller mixed with Salim Stoudimare 2nd pick: G/F Rudy Fernandez- Manu Ginobli type player
1st of all, Felton is not like Davis. His offensive game will not get much better, but I think that is what we need. Someone who can pass and play D and isn't to concerned with Offense. Warrick is no good for us IMO. He doesn't have distance to play the 3 and he isn't strong enough for the 4..I think he is another Darius Miles..
I think that if Felton can fall into your hands, definately pick him up. The lakers don't really need a scoring pg because they have other options to score right now. They just need somebody to feed the big guns, and slash every once in a while. Either that or Gerry Mcnamara if he enters, he could be the steve kerr of the lakers, especially if Phil Jackson comes back. McNamara is more talented than kerr of course, so it would be even better.
I say take Chris Taft, he is a very potential power forward, and he is a potential to be a menace in the west
I think a pg is what the Lakers need more right now. I possibly think we could make some trades to position ourselves to get a PF late in the first round, along with keeping our mid-low first round pick that we will get. I would love to bring Felton in here most of all though, he could really help us the most IMO.

I would love to trade of Caron and some others during the draft for some picks to make sure we can secure a pg...preferably..Felton, and then maybe with our pick try to get Wayne Simien or someone...

Lakers Looking Lottery Bound <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">All the signs point to the dismal 1993-94 season, when the Lakers last missed the playoffs and entered the lottery for the only time in franchise history. It is a bad omen all the Lakers refuse to admit is upon them, but they can't deny the similarities between that season and this one. The Lakers lost, 102-100, to the Seattle SuperSonics before 18,997 at Staples Center Sunday night, their season-high fifth straight loss. The last time a Lakers team lost five in a row was the 1993-94 season. This loss dropped the 2004-05 Lakers 3 ? games behind Denver for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference and one game behind the Timberwolves for ninth. The Nuggets defeated Milwaukee on Sunday to extend the margin. The Lakers are in the 10th position with a 32-34 record. Do they still believe in themselves? "I still feel we're in it," Lakers interim coach Frank Hamblen said. "I hope they feel that they're in it. But you lost five in a row, sooner or later, you've got to stand up and be counted." The Lakers didn't have starting power forward Lamar Odom because of a strained left shoulder, but the SuperSonics weren't whole either. Seattle lost All-Star guard Ray Allen with a sprained right ankle in the first quarter. Vladimir Radmanovic (stress fracture of the right fibula), Danny Fortson (right ankle sprain) and Jerome James (right quad contusion) didn't play. But Rashard Lewis (27 points) and reserve guard Ronald Murray (a season-high 25) tore the Lakers apart. Kobe Bryant had 30 points and Caron Butler 29 to lead the Lakers. All the Lakers, including Bryant, were slow to start this game. When Bryant became assertive, it seemed to hurt his teammates. He scored 16 points in the fourth quarter, and he made all four of his three-pointers then. The rest of the Lakers stood around and watched instead of getting involved. "One of the things that hurts us some is that Kobe tries to do too much, and it gets the other guys out of whack in the triangle," Hamblen said. "He's so far ahead of them in the triangle, and if he's going to do certain things, they're thinking, 'What am I supposed to do now?'" Butler scored and was fouled to pull the Lakers to within 98-95 with 22.3 seconds left. Butler missed the free throw, and Bryant came away with the rebound. He missed a three-pointer. The ball was loose, and the officials ruled it Sonics ball after it went out of bounds with 14.6 seconds left. Now the Lakers are left wondering if they still have it in them to keep pushing for the playoffs. </div> Source
To me, it seems as if they are indefinitely lottery bound this year, which might be good for them. It gives them a high pick and the potential to get a very good player out of the draft. Right now though, they've been playing absolutely terrible. They just can't put it together and come up with a win. They need to figure something out and fix the problem here very soon if they're going to contend for that 8th and final spot in the West instead of heading to the NBA Draft Lottery.
I dont really think it is worth making the 8th seed and getting swept by the Spurs. I say lottery is better for us to improve
The main problem with not making the playoffs is all the criticism from other teams like the Heat that we'll get
