This is from la times LINK The Lakers have had some relative success in the second round, taking Luke Walton with the 32nd pick in 2003 and Ronny Turiaf with the 37th pick in 2005. They are also keeping tabs on 6-foot-8 Chinese guard Sun Yue, whom they took last year with the 40th pick. "We're very optimistic that we can get him on the roster next year," Kupchak said. "I'll contact his agent this week and have some initial discussions." The Lakers now move forward to free agency, which begins Monday at 9 p.m. Another idea! Now that the grizzlies trade o.j. mayo, maybe we have a chance of gettin crittenton back he is a very nice backup for fisher, much better than farmar thoughts
I'd like JCritt back and maybe he becomes easier to acquire with Mayo heading over to Memphis, and Conley getting another chance to run the starting point guard duties. Plus they have Kyle Lowry and now Darrell Arthur. I'm not sure what Sun Yue does for us at this point. Trade bait?
I don't think Memphis will hold any trade negotiations with L.A. for the next 3 or 4 seasons, so I don't expect Critter back. We had him, we let him go. We traded the wrong young PG, but it netted us Gasol, so I'm not going to complain. I don't see Yue doing anything for us at this point, either.
It's going to be Yue, Crawford, and Karl battling for the last roster spot this summer. Should be interesting
Are there any current photos of Yue out there? I'd like to see if he's added any muscle and weight to his frame. Unless he's bulked up I'd prefer the Lakers keep him overseas and keep a roster spot open for a veteran who can contribute right away. It doesn't make sense to bring him over to ride the pine all season or play in the DLeague.
I don't think so... But he will be playing for China in the Olympics right? I'll be interested in seeing how well he plays

PJax hates playing rookies unless they are quick learners of his offense. I really don't see any benefit of bringing him over unless the Lakers have a deal in place to free up minutes in the backcourt.

All that height is meaningless if you weigh less than Derek Fisher.

LOL BTW, Who thinks we can get Kwame from the FA?
I want Yue here but that's just me wanting to see more chinese players play....even though they never bulk up (except for me of course)
