We should trade him, he obviously isnt happy here anymore without his boyfriend antoine. He misses clutch free throws all the time and chokes alot in the 4th quarter. face it, he isnt the old pierce that we used to have. i say trade him now while his value is still up.
I say maybe trade him to the 76ers to help A.I. out. Trade away maybe Kenny Thomas (before he retires) and maybe Willie Green. That would be a nice squad.
I reckon you could get a nice set of expiring contracts like, say, Jerome James and Vitaly Potapenko.

Pierce hasn't "choked" all year. The only problem he had regarding the 4th quarter was trying to do too much.<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">face it, he isnt the old pierce that we used to have.</div>Yes, Ricky Pierce was a great basketball player, but he never was on the Celtics.<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">trade him for Jalen Rose, Alonzo Mourning, Donyell Marshall and a 1st rounder</div>No.<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Trade him for Tim thomas.</div>No chance.<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Trade away maybe Kenny Thomas (before he retires) and maybe Willie Green.</div>Why would the Celtics make that trade? Trading Pierce would destroy the Celtic's franchise, unless they got a player like Shaq, Kg, Duncan or another great superstar which won't happen. Pierce is playing okay IMO but I think he should get his teammates involved more, he trys to shoulder to much late in the game.
Unless you are getting equal or more value let Double P stay. I don't live up in Boston so, I can't watch their games but, Pierce is the franchise player. Pierce is a good example for these young cats like Welsch, Banks, and Jefferson. If they want to be as good as him, work! I don't even know what franchise would trade their franchise player for Pierce. Just about all of them are doing well, so they wont do it. Let Pierce stay in Boston. That is unless we trade for Tim Thomas like bobby said. I'm just messing with you guys.
lol ok trading pierce definately kills the team. they lose their player, and dont really have a great offensive option night in, night out. man some people hate too easily
Who's everybody? Vince Carter is not good in the role of team leader. Further proving why he will flourish in New Jersey (Vince). If he went to Boston, which has way more media exposure than Toronto, he'd be bawlin' like a little baby because the media is pickin' on him. Leave Pierce in Boston and leave VC in New Jersey
Trade Ideas Thread I always find these interesting. I'll start with one that I'm basing on some rumors that are flying around. Boston trades: Michael Stewart (No games yet played in 2004/05) PG Gary Payton (13.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 6.4 apg in 33.8 minutes) C Mark Blount (12.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.7 apg in 31.3 minutes) SG Jiri Welsch (8.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.8 apg in 22.2 minutes) Boston receives: C Erick Dampier (8.2 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 26.5 minutes) PG Jason Terry (9.5 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 3.6 apg in 24.4 minutes) SF Josh Howard (12.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.4 apg in 35.0 minutes) Change in team outlook: -3.1 ppg, +5.8 rpg, and -4.0 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED
....or I could just do it myself. I don't think it needs a sticky anyway. I'm not a big fan of stickied threads.

TRADE ACCEPTED</div> the thread is good but i hate when people post up ridiculous trade ideas. Dallas would NEVER do anything that even looked like that. But if people find this realistic then i'll post mine... Toronto trades: SG Jalen Rose (14.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.2 apg in 30.6 minutes) PG Milt Palacio (6.2 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 3.4 apg in 18.9 minutes) Toronto receives: SG Jiri Welsch (8.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.8 apg in 22.2 minutes) SF Paul Pierce (22.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 4.3 apg in 36.4 minutes) Change in team outlook: +9.8 ppg, +4.5 rpg, and +0.5 apg. Boston trades: SG Jiri Welsch (8.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.8 apg in 22.2 minutes) SF Paul Pierce (22.6 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 4.3 apg in 36.4 minutes) Boston receives: SG Jalen Rose (14.7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 2.2 apg in 30.6 minutes) PG Milt Palacio (6.2 ppg, 1.3 rpg, 3.4 apg in 18.9 minutes) Change in team outlook: -9.8 ppg, -4.5 rpg, and -0.5 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED
Well, your idea is about 3 million times more ridiculous than mine is. Why would Boston trade away Pierce and Welsch for Jalen Rose? Just look at the change in team outlook, not to mention the fact that Jalen Rose has been traded twice already in his career , and now his current team is trying to get rid of him. For somebody that has some actual talent, there must be some major problems with him because he's a league doorknob. As for Palacio: If we wanted him that badly, we would have kept him in the first place. But now that you've mentioned it, please explain to me how the trade I brought up is so ridiculous in your eyes. Instead of just dismissing it, how about giving a couple reasons why you think that Dallas wouldn't do it? Josh Howard is the only reason I can think of, so here you go... Boston trades: PG Gary Payton (13.2 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 6.4 apg in 33.8 minutes) C Mark Blount (12.1 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.7 apg in 31.3 minutes) Michael Stewart (No games yet played in 2004/05) SG Jiri Welsch (8.1 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.8 apg in 22.2 minutes) Boston receives: PG Jason Terry (9.5 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 3.6 apg in 24.4 minutes) C Erick Dampier (8.2 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 0.9 apg in 26.5 minutes) Change in team outlook: -15.7 ppg, -1.7 rpg, and -5.4 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED
ok, I'm not really going to take sides on which trade is more rediculous, because frankly, I think the Celtics biggest problem the last few years has been too much player turnover - but I would just take a second to point a few things out: Jalen Rose has been traded three times: Denver to Indiana, Indiana to Chicago and Chicago to Toronto. And from what I hear his biggest problem is that while he doesn't have 'the man' skills, he takes 'the man' shots and that annoys the actual big stars. The Toronto trade doesn't happen because it seriously weakens the C's depth: not to mention Palacio would go behind Payton, Banks and West on the depth chart so it doesn't upgrade the team. And, as Thrilla said, Rose for Pierce is not even 60 cents on the dollar. I have no doubt that Pierce is available for the right price, but my guess is that it would have to be a top 20 talent or expiring contracts (Jalen's got 2 more years) and picks. The Dallas trade would never happen for the simple reason that Boston just signed Blount and Dallas just signed Dampier. If there is one thing that GM's in the NBA never do its admit that they were wrong, which trading away two recent signings would do. If Boston makes a move at all, I would expect it to be minor, maybe Jiri and Yogi Stewart's expiring contract for the big small forward Doc is always saying the team needs, like James Posey from Memphis.
I agree that the Dallas deal would most likely never happen, but I think it's harder to say never when you're talking about Mark Cuban and DA. I think both could make viable points for trading away their new free agent signings. Ainge could say that Dampier is a better fit for the team because he can control the boards more than Blount can, and that would put less of a rebounding burden on our young guys that we're trying to develop. Cuban could say that Blount is a better fit for their style of play because he has more of an offensive game than Damp does, and rebounding isn't as much of an issue when Dirk is pulling down 10 a game. I, personally wouldn't be opposed to the deal, even though I love Gary and Jiri. More than likely Payton will be dealt before the deadline, and I think Terry would be a good guy to get in return. He isn't as good as Payton, but he's a better than average PG that can fill the void while Marcus/Delonte develop. As for Jiri, he's the one out of the 3 swingmen opposite Pierce that I'd be most willing to part with. I think one of them has to go, and he will most likely be the one. I'd hate to see him go, but I'd rather it be him than Davis or Allen.
I have to say, I can't see that trade happening but I can see the logic in it. On the other hand, 02civic's idea seems a little more farfetched than yours thrilla.
