So...what I was thinking was we'd have a thread for general comments.... opinions/interests/stuff that is interesting to talk about in this thread. Basically, user posts where we can comment on players and the happenings of the team.... And articles and such can all have their own separate threads. That way, if someone is having a good week of camp, we can discuss it here.....and then if he follows it up with a poor week, we aren't digging around trying to find out what we were saying about him last week...its all in one thread! If it gets to be too much, I can split the thread up too. Anyways, its just an idea. Thought we'd try it out. If you don't like it this way, don't hestitate. Tell me. We can always change it.
Yesterday, there was a Press Conference. Stephen Jones said that they'd talk about Terry Glenn tomorrow (tomorrow, as in today, the 25th). So we should be hearing about that soon. My guess is that Glenn gets cut. Also, Jerry said that Felix and Mike Jenkins would be signed within 24 hours... meaning, today, they'll get their contracts done.
Meh Glenn is getting old and I'm not even sure he brings enough to the table to be an every down 2nd option anymore. Add in the fact that he's injury prone and well I think it's time for him to go anyways.
Justin Tuck reveals his stupidity.... <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>“Maybe it is because Dallas tried to buy a Super Bowl this year,” Tuck said. “Maybe because everybody seems to be making these blockbuster moves. It isn’t about that. It’s about teams that genuinely love to play with each other. We know what to expect from each other, from our coaching staff, all the way down to the last guy on the roster. I guess we aren’t that flashy team everybody thinks we should be. As long as we go out and get the job done, who cares?”</div> Tried to buy a Super Bowl this year? Elaborate. We brought in one new starter for this year over last year; Zach Thomas. That's buying a Super Bowl? The other new starter we'll have this year (Barber) was in internal upgrade; like you know, when your team drafts and develops a future starter.... Clearly, he must be talking about Owens, Newman, Barber, Adams getting new deals..... which, apparently, re-signing/contract extensions is trying to buy a Super Bowl. Most people call that smart (keeping players that have panned out). Tuck calls it buying a Super Bowl. Then, there's the obvious.... teams generally want to win the Super Bowl.
Things I want to see: Hurd, Stanback, Austin.....one of them tear up training camp. I want to see Free develop as an OT. We'll likely let Colombo walk after this year IMO. Carpenter settle into his new role and show that he can be a starting ILB when Zach departs. Of course, I am always interested in the rookies too. Things I expect to see: Spencer making noise. Felix adding some spark to the offense. Epic CB battles.
