Well, another year has come and damn near gone, with the same result: No playoffs, and another lottery pick to look at. Yipee! Well, where do we start? We start with Crawford. Is he, or isn't he, a future member/cornerstone of this team? Some team out there in Free Agency will offer the MLE, which should be in the neighborhood of $4.9 million. So, our starting offer will have to be in the neighborhood of $5 million. Is he worth locking up fo rhte long term? I still am skeptical. Which is why Id like to see Chicago simply offer the one year tender. Give Crawford one more year to prove himself/disprove himself. But my guess is that he is gone. With that settled, what do we do in Free Agency/Draft. If Chicago lands Okafor, we could package Okafor with a player or two to land a high quality SF. But my preference is to keep Okafor and team him up with Curry. Okafor has better offensive moves than Chandler, and is a better help defender. Package Chandler with Crawford for a high profile wing(see: Rashard Lewis. Seattle has Radmanovic and Lewis at SF's. Neither can play PF. And since Seattle could use some size..... Lewis, resigned Barry for resigned Crawford and Chandler could work.....maybe need a cap filler). So what about our other 3 2nd round picks? Romain Sato would give us an athletic SG that can defend and shoot. Duhon would give us a good, college experienced backup PG. And since Chicago ALWAYS drafts a PF, we need to include one....(take your pick). With that complete, we can head into FA and nab Stephen Jackson for the MLE. http://www.suntimes.com/output/bulls/cst-spt-bull283.html <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Chicago is a great place with a great, young team,'' Jackson said. "I'd love to be a part of it. "Hopefully, they are interested. I would love to play for John Paxson. He's a great guy, and Scott Skiles is a friend of mine. He knows me better than a lot of people. I'm happy he has a job, and I would love to play for him.'' The Bulls are likely to have some interest. Paxson considered Jackson last summer before Scottie Pippen committed to the Bulls. Paxson will only have the mid-level exception to offer, about $5 million, but Jackson, averaging 16.9 points and 4.6 rebounds, said that won't be a problem. </div> So, should Paxson pull his head out of his @$$ and sign him, we'd look like this heading into next season: Curry/Davis Okafor/Williams Lewis/Robinson Jackson/Sato Hinrich/Duhon We'd have an inside shotblocking presence in Okafor. Shooters in Lewis, Jackson, Hinrich, and Sato. Perimeter defenders in Duhon, Hinrich, Sato, and Lewis. We'd have a balanced team. Ahh....if only.....
Your (lack of) intelligence never ceases to amaze me. Its a wonder you can multi-task(breathe and type).
This is exactly why I stopped posting here...... I made a thread. No one responded, except of course, saad.... And in essence, wasted my time posting this reply, and the original thread.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Vintage:</div><div class="quote_post">Your (lack of) intelligence never ceases to amaze me. Its a wonder you can multi-task(breathe and type).</div> Anyways, i think Crawford will be in a Bulls uniform next season, however if he is still extremely inconsistent, i see him being shipped off after next season. I, too think that Sato and Okafor will be Bulls next season (see Offseason Prediction Thread), but i forgot we had the extra draft picks, and Duhon would be a solid backup, but if we draft him, we may not keep Pargo, who's been playing extremely well with the Bulls. Tyson will likely be shipped off (it saddens me seeing how well he played at the beginning of the season).I would love to have Lewis on the Bulls, but i doubt Seattle would give us 'Shard unless we gave them some more (or take one of their hefty contracts, that is if they have one they need to get rid of). That being said, i think this will be our lineup next year: C-Curry PF-Okafor SF-Jackson SG-Crawford PG-Hinrich But, lets say we get lucky and get 'Shard: C-Curry PF-Okafor SF-Lewis SG-Crawford PG-Hinrich 6th Man: Pargo I'd love that.....
I still believe in this team even though this has been a tough season, they've proved on some occasions that if they're more consistent they can be a tough force in the league...just my view. They need to grow, they seem to have all the tools to be great, it's just they don't exactly know how to use them yet. I say give them time because we are demanding too much of these young players. If we by some stroke of luck pick up Okafor, I want to see whether him or Tyson are better. If Tyson is the same as he was earlier, I would keep him. Sometimes I think a lot of people forgot that he was doing really well and get a little too trade happy with Chandler. Maybe get him a shooting coach or something and get that hitch out of his shot if it's really that bad... I want this team to keep Pargo because if you don't give this guy a chance next year you are probably really stupid. This guy can obviously play and he deserves a spot on the roster next year. Also try to pick up Stephen Jackson. He's a really good player in Atlanta and since he's one of the only people I've heard showing any interest in playing in Chi-town, try to sign this guy and see how it goes. I really don't want Crawford to go, because I can almost guarantee you it will be exactly the same scenerio as Artest and Miller. I hope next years lineup to look like this: C-Curry PF-Chandler SF-Jackson SG-Crawford PG-Hinrich 6th man Pargo
I believe in the Bulls too, and I have confidence Scott Skiles can get this team playing great basketball once they get rid of Jamal Crawford. His attitude and style simply don't fit the team. He's Jalen Jr. and the Bulls would be wise to sign and trade him to a team that likes jacking up shots. I like Vintage's Sonics deal, but I don't see the Sonics letting Shard go unless a team is willing to take James or Booth's contract. The trade I would try to make is with the Nuggets. Out of curiosity I checked it at RealGM and it was approved. Bulls trade Jamal Crawford & Jerome Williams $5.4M Nuggets trade Andre Miller $6.4M <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Chicago trades: PF Jerome Williams (6.4 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 24.6 minutes) SG Jamal Crawford (16.9 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5.2 apg in 34.9 minutes) Chicago receives: PG Andre Miller (15.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 6.3 apg in 34.7 minutes) Change in team outlook: -8.3 ppg, -6.2 rpg, and -0.0 apg. Denver trades: PG Andre Miller (15.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 6.3 apg in 34.7 minutes) Denver receives: PF Jerome Williams (6.4 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 1.1 apg in 66 games) SG Jamal Crawford (16.9 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 5.2 apg in 75 games) Change in team outlook: +8.3 ppg, +6.2 rpg, and 0.0 apg. TRADE ACCEPTED Due to Chicago being over the cap, the 15% trade rule is invoked. Chicago had to be no more than 115% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. You have been assigned Trade ID number 1564951</div> Bulls Roster =========== PG - Miller / Hinrich SG - Gill, draft pick or free agent SF - E-Rob PF - Chandler C - Curry Denver Roster ============ PG - Crawford SG - Lenard SF - Carmelo PF - Nene / JYD C - Camby

We already have a PG in Hinrich. What we need is a good SG/SF, which is why Id love to see Shard brought in. Another scenario Id like to see(doubt if Dallas would be interested), would be a : Antonio Davis Emeka Okafor for Mike Finley Josh Howard On the scratch, it looks bad for Dallas. But remember, Okafor is expected to be a top 3 pick, with the possibility of going #1. He is THAT highly regarded. So its not too shabby for Dallas. Dallas would get the low post defender they crave(and he can rebound....) Davis would be a good defensive backup 4/5(albeit an expensive one....but its Mark Cuban, and his team is over the cap anyway). Chicago would get an experienced wing player who can score, a young wing player who looks to have a good future. It would leave Chicago looking like: Hinrich/Finley/Howard/Chandler/Curry
I like the double threat PG duo of Hinrich and Miller. I just don't see Hinrich ready to be the every day starter for the Bulls, and having Andre Miller would push him to becoming a great player down the line. From a salary cap perspective the Bulls would have a lot of cap space in two years with Miller and AD coming off the books. Their contracts expire the same time Chandler & Curry become free agents, and hopefully within those two years the Bulls could make a sound decision on resigning either of them. In two years Hinrich will be a legit starter and familiar with Skiles philosophy. He will also have an easier time leading the team because of the two years under Miller and the fact he has "paid his dues," so to speak. The league is filled with wingmen, and it shouldn't be, too hard for them to either sign a free agent or draft a player.

Jamal and Jay Jamal and Kirk That's the last thing we need. Hinrich is ready to start. He has proven that this year. He has played some extended minutes, but he does well. PG is the one spot on our team we are the least concerned about. The problem is, we haven't found a wing man. Eddie Robinson Scottie Pippen Kendal Gill- has done admirably, but his better days are long gone Johnson Hassell Mason Dupree We recycle wingmen like plastic. We haven't found one worth keeping. Thats why a swap for Finley and Howard would be great, as it no only gives us help now, but also in the future.
Johnson and Dupree are good backups for this team and I hope to see at least one in a Bulls uniform next year. After Linton came back, he could shoot better. Does anyone else feel they'll be staying? Also, I don't remember if I saw this here or somewhere else but would anyone consider this... If Chicago doesn't want JC anymore, do you think it would be realistic for a trade involving JC to the Warriors for J-Rich? JC would be like their Gilbert Arenas replacement and J-Rich would be a nice addition to our team. Didn't the Warriors anticipate J-Rich leaving and draft Pietrus for his replacement?
Well the problem in both of those scenarios was Jamal Crawford. He simply isn't a point guard, he's a tweener and he likes to shoot first. I don't think Hinrich is physically ready to play a full season at PG, nor does he have the seniority to lead this team. I do like the Finley & Howard trade for both teams. I'm sure Cuban would love to have the media frenzy Omeka would bring to Dallas.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting saad:</div><div class="quote_post">keep dreaming little boy...</div> Little boy, even though hes probably old enough to be your dad.
JC is gone, he will get a better contract from NY or some other Mecca city of the NBA. HIinrich IMO is ready to play a full season for the bulls as their starting PG, he's the only rookie this year to get a triple double. If we get Emeka Okafor then we will be getting somewhere he could stay and we could ship JYD and Chandler for someone or if Paxon is gonna do the same thing he did with artest and Miller we would probably package him with ERob. Anyways the bulls need to pick up someone good or resign Pargo that would be smart, this guy IMO not just cause he's my favorite player will be the MIP next year if he keeps this up.
