The board was dead so I figured I would take a quick survey of what Nets fans are thinking about the moves we made acquisitons going into the 2005-2006.

So simply answer these following questions...

What was you favorite acquisition made this offseason? and why?

What acquisition will make the biggest impact or difference?why?

What was your least favorite move by the Nets front office during the 05' offseason?and why?

What realistic move do you think the Nets could have made in place of your least favorite 05' transaction?

For those who may have forgot some of the Nets moves this offseason...here is a brief recap.......

Nets Draft Swingman Antoine Wright (15th pick, 1st round) and Mile Illic (43rd pick, 2nd round)

Nets resign G Jacque Vaughn and F Cliff Robinson

Nets acquire Marc Jackson from 76ers via Trade Exemption

Nets sign Free Agent Point Guard Jeff McInnis (2 year deal)

Nets sign Swingman Linton Johnson (1 year deal)

Nets sign Forward Scott Padgett (2 year deal) and Wingman Lammond Murray (1 year deal)

    * For a more detailed recap of the Nets 05' offseason look for the Nets Season Preview in the JBB Exclusive Forum coming soon from Kobimel

But until then please answer those questions I posted above, Iam interested in hearing peoples views on this...thanks.

    1) What was you favorite aquisition made this offseason? and why?

My favorite has to be the drafting of Mile Illic. I know that he will not be on the team this year, but if he develops the way Kristic is developing, then we have a very bright future in the big-men department.

    2) What aqusition will make the biggest impact or difference? Why?

I have to say that the coming of Mark Jackson will make the most impact. Last year the Nets had two big men (Collins and Kristic) that were adaquet (Cliff came towards the second half of the season), but they were too often in foul trouble. This year, I think that Jackson will be an adequet bigman off of the bench, making Collins and Kristic foul trouble less damaging.

    3) What was your least favorite move by the Nets front office during the 05' offseason?and why?

I'm probably going to get bashed for this, but I have to say the signing of McInnis. Not that I do not want him here, I just do not think that we really needed him considering that we have Vaughn and Wright. I think that Vaughn is much better in a team concept than McInnis. Even though it was my least favorite move, I still think that it will turn out for the better. Vaughn, might play with Kidd on the floor, and McInnis might come in for Kidd and ball hog the ball, making something happen with it.

    4) What realistic move do you think the Nets could have made in replace of your least favorite 05' transaction?

Instead of signing McInnis, they could have signed a bigman like Songalia or Calvin Booth (or even both). I have watched Songalia play in Europe and I think that if placed in the proper scemes, he can be very productive. Booth is just a good tough guy to have off the bench.

What was you favorite acquisition made this offseason? and why?

Trading for Marc Jackson. He's a great big man to have off the bench, and he, as xpehbamxyu has already stated, will really help us when JC and Krstic get into foul trouble. He's never been a great defender, but I think J-Kidd will rub off some D onto him, as he's done with Jefferson and even K-Mart. Both are now solid defenders, and they owe a lot of that to Jason. Marc is a better scorer than Collins and will rebound well enough to give us some boards off the bench.

What acquisition will make the biggest impact or difference?why?

Scott Padgett. He's not the kind of big man I really wanted, but his outside shooting abilities will strech the oppositions' big men and make room for RJ and VC to drive. He'll probably score in bunches off the bench, and is a decent rebounder and defender. Overall, I think he will be responsible for a good part of the points scored by our backcourt when he's in the game.

What was your least favorite move by the Nets front office during the 05' offseason?and why?

Drafting Antoine Wright. I mean, I know we needed a shooter, and we got one (maybe not even that, as Wright shot pretty badly in the summer league, raising questions), but there were a lot of other guys on the board that could help us. Danny Granger has good height and could of contributed min. at PF if we needed him to, not just at SF. Joey Graham has a better all-around game than Wright, and he's a better defender. Hakim Warrick would be a good backup PF, even though he's undersized, because of his athleticism and rebounding abilities for his size. And Gerald Green would solidify our future backcourt when Carter is traded/leaves, and would make us even MORE explosive, if that's possible. He would also flourish with Kidd at his side and VC to help him polish his game.

What realistic move do you think the Nets could have made in place of your least favorite 05' transaction?

Draft one of the guys I stated above.
