Virtually nobody outside of S2 cares much, if at all, about the Blazers. http://www.kptv.com/news/21166160/detail.html
Most Oregonians were probably too hesitant to take the poll because they felt it would kill a tree or something
That's a lie! You know Oregonians would choose the (hairy) red (bud) over the green (leaves) every single time.
Well, it's hard for roughly 50% of the state's residents to consistently follow the team on TV due to the Comcast situation.
I know. Who cares about illegals if they support the red and black it's these LEGAL Californian immigrants bringing up the purple and pee that I want to deport.
A lot of nationwide polls, such as political polls, have ~ 1000 people. It really depends on the methodology and representative demographics of the polls.
To be honest, this is a much higher percentage than I would've expected. I'd be really curious to see other states results. I suspect this is quite high in comparison.
The issue really is how painful a big margin of error would be. I am willing to bet that statistics that deal with safety of drugs would have a much bigger sample size - for a non-important issue like this - a 5% margin of error does not seem like a big deal.
THIS As far as NBA markets in 2008-09, the Blazers had the second best attendance figures (Dallas #1) and second best local television ratings (Cleveland #1). I could care less what some political pollster on the local Faux affiliate has to say about what percentage of Oregonians care about the Blazers.
There used to be fans here in Beautiful Central Oregon, but that was pre-comcast (which is not available here) and we got 40, then 30 or so games free. Now we get squat. They used to play a pre-season game here. Now they don't. I don't think they even advertise locally. Karma.
