<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Emeka Okafor, who fell to the Charlotte Bobcats as the second overall pick in June's draft, signed with the expansion team Monday.

Terms were not disclosed, but under the rookie salary scale, Okafor will make at least $10.05 million over three years with a fourth-year option.

"We are happy to have Emeka signed to a contract and ready to play basketball," said Bobcats general manager Bernie Bickerstaff, whose team already is playing in the Rocky Mountain Revue summer league.

The Bobcats traded the fourth and 33rd picks to the Los Angeles Clippers for the second pick, then watched the Orlando Magic tab high school forward Dwight Howard with the top pick. That left them the 6-10 Okafor, the most polished big man available.</div>

My reaction to the news: [IMG]

He's a great player and he can do special things for the Bobcats. It's about time they inked him.

wow. 10.05 million dollars on a three year deal with a fourth year option. That is alot of money, but he deserves it though. Good to see him finally get signed hopefully the cats can make the playoffs during that time at least once so his talent wont be under rated.

^^First team All-NBA or MVP are you crazy, he will have a hard time making the All-Star game in the next 2 seasons.
