Dolphins will probably pick Glenn Dorsey, and Long might go second, after that who knows. Who are your top 5 players. Saints better boost up their secondary.
So? Its no longer about the Pats and now all about the phins. I like it. I like it alot. I would not rule out the phins taking Long given Groh & Parcells are buddies among other things. I still say they trade it.

Unlike Parcells, TS does not necessarily believe bigger is better. Hallelujah! I have no problem with a hybrid defense. Mixing The 3-4 Schottenheimer used in KC which relied on speed & an agressive/physical 4-3 run by Philly & the G-men works fine by me. Long IMO is more suited to the Pats style of hybrid and Dorsey to Miami might be a reality after all.
Being a Raiders fan, naturally I don't have the faintest notion what Al will do next. We could end up drafting just about anybody. Hell, Al might draft Mel Kiper !

Remember, Oakland still needs to flip a coin with the Falcons and figure out who gets to pick first. Lets talk about McFadden. Would Oakland take him? They have been drafting defense in the first round a lot in the recent past. They actually do need to fix the run d, so if Howie's son gets passed a few times, I would hope they grab him. I think Chris Long can be huge in the NFL, and is a guy who covers a lot of ground quickly. Could Dorsey fall to us? I doubt that Parcells will pass on him. If they do go RB, I have to believe that means that Jordan and Dominic Rhodes are already gone from the team. Fargas ran for 1000 yards last year, but again, got injured for the millionth time since he's been drafted.

Long, then the Raiders should take the other Long, the offensive tackle from Michigan. They need help there too. Golston is a beast though. I hope they don't end up having to choose anyone else but the first 3. I just can't figure out what they would take beyond that. Crossing fingers.
I thought Golsthon is coming back to school, which pissed me off. In the O-line Gallery never produce?

Though, I don't think Rhodes or son of Huggy Bear is the answer. Both IMO are great change of pace backs. Some "experts" have projected McFadden to the jets but then some thought that is where Reggie Bush would end up. Can you say media bias? What about a trade between Phins & Raiders? My idea: #1 overall & Ricky W for Raiders #1, a 2nd & 5th in 08 plus a conditional 6th in 09 provided Ricky doesn't go all Cheech & Chong again. Dorsey would be an ideal replacement for Sapp. It would be too funny if Chris were to play for the Raiders as long as someone snags him before NE picks where the 9ers would have. I'd bet Parcells takes Dorsey or Long if the #1 overall pick is not traded.

No way in hell Manningham is top 10. Although, I wish you were a GM......because then you'd orchestrate something like that, and more talent drops to 22 and 28...
^ You don't like Manningham as a first-rounder? After watching him play for Michigan, he just needs to show decent speed at the combine to get snapped up. Which WR would you take over him?

Oakland won't be going to the spread offense anytime soon. I shudder to think about the line not getting all the help that it can on passing downs from the TE and FB as they give up too many sacks as it is. McFadden to NY sounds silly to me as well. What's wrong with Thomas Jones? Also, McFadden won't even be there when they pick. I can't imagine the Jets drafting anything but defense at #6. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (blackadder @ Feb 9 2008, 12:04 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>What about a trade between Phins & Raiders? It's possible he could just land right in their lap if they pick #3 or #4. Same goes for Long. Ricky's trade value nowadays seems a bit lower than it once was before being out of football, in my opinion. I could see Oakland pursuing someone like Jason Taylor for a later pick if he were to pass a physical and prove that his foot injury is no big deal, without giving up the #3 overall pick. How many more seasons does Taylor have left? He's hinted at retirement in recent memory. Dorsey is my first choice if I were picking. Then Chris Long. Okay, maybe I like the idea of Chris Long better, but Dorsey is the most sensible pick right now given the retirement of Sapp. I know they need help on the O-line, but I wouldn't mind them trying to address that through other means, like trading or free agency. Chris Long won't fall to the Patriots unless they move up. Yeah, I also think that it will go down like that - Dorsey the first pick. Why wouldn't he?
This is a really bad WR class coming in, just like in 06 when Chad Jackson and Santonio Holmes led the class. Desean Jackson is the only lock for the first round because of return ability and explosiveness. Sweed has injury and speed/seperation issues, Malcom Kelly is a tall reciever but needs to have a good combine, and Manningham is a 6 foot 0 deep threat but can do other things? This is one of the deepest running back classes with 8 first round quality running backs, 5 with probably be selected in the first round. I think Mendenhall is going to be a really good power runner with speed, like a Steven Jackson. There are a lot of RBs with some serious speed: McFadden, Slaton, Jones, Charles, Mendenhall, Forsett, Chris Johnson. I cant wait to see the combine times on these runners. A player I like is Dominque Rodgers-Cromartie a CB from Tennesse St. This kid did great at the senior bowl and has good height, he could be picked as high as 2nd round with a time in the 4.4 range. I hope the cardinals pick up S DaJuan Morgan somewhere in the 3rd or 4th round because that would be cool to have 3 safeties from NC State on one team.
