Do you believe/want the Hornets to stay in OKC or the Sonics to relocate to OKC? A lot of fans in OKC have fallen in love with the Hornets, but I think that eventually the Hornets will move back and the Sonics will move in (with a new name).

I know Stern doesn't want the team to stay in OKC. It all turned out different than expected. Oklahoma city was a temporary location for them to play basketball, and that's all. Yeah fans showed up but Stern made it clear that they weren't going to stay there. Maybe you'll get a team in a few years, but it'll be an expansion team, and we all know how long that takes to draw attention..

Stern will not allow the Hornets to move to Oklahoma City. Although, the franchise was succeeding in Oklahoma and was not gaining revenue in New Orleans (even before the hurricane) Stern will not allow them to just abandon the city of New Orleans. I think there is a much larger chance of the Sonics moving to Oklahoma City than the Hornets, which is honestly a shame in my opinion. Oklahoma City showed a passion for the Hornets that the city of New Orleans never showed.

It was a perfect place to have one of the leagues brightest young stars (Chris Paul) playing. Hopefully New Orleans embraces them once they move back to Louisiana Stern has said he hopes that they will be able to play all 41 regular season games in New Orleans by 2007/08.

Meanwhile, the relationship between the Sonics and the city of Seattle has really soured. Although, the fans love the team and are some of the most loyal in the league, the city itself does not want to dish out the money to build a new stadium. Stern has given some quotes that would lead you to believe that there is a very good chance the Sonics will be on the move.

yeah I agree, if a team is going to move to OKC, it's gonna be the sonics. However, Anaheim is probably the top city available for an NBA franchise. I really don't care as long as it's not the Kings. there was a time when rumors had it that the kings would move to OKC or Anaheim, i guess there's still a small chance but that would just be a shame. It's not like in New orleans where there wasn't much support, in sacramento they sellout every game, no matter how the team plays. It's not just basketball in this town, man back in 02 the kings WERE sacramento. that's all we talked about here, everybody was a kings fan. you look anywhere and you'll see Go Kings banners, shirts, Beat LA or w/e. But if i lived in OKC, i would definitely prefer to have the hornets, sonics are on the downfall while hornets got some pretty good years ahead of them.

What would you call a team from Oklahoma? Cowboys is taken by a college team, and something like Deseprados sucks.

I would prefer to have the Hornets stay in OKC, but like others have stated, that's not going to happen. I really grew fond of the Hornets last season, and they have made some great moves this offseason and are moving in the right direction.

I've always been a Sonics fan as well, so I wouldn't mind them coming into OKC either. I am a big Ray Allen fan, and I also like Luke Ridnour.

Either way, I'll just be happy with any NBA team. But if I had to choose between the Sonice and Hornets, I'd definitely pick the Hornets.
