<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">OKLAHOMA CITY -- It didn't take long for the sellout crowd to realize why NBA basketball players are considered by many to be the best athletes in the world. With 11 seconds remaining in the first quarter, 5-foot-11 Hornets guard Speedy Claxton soared well above the rim and blocked the shot of Sacramento guard Jason Hart, who is 6-3. The play brought a chorus of oohs and ahs from every corner of the Ford Center. Elevation and rejection, it seems, are nothing new for Claxton, the smallest player on the floor. It was the 31st blocked shot of his career. It was just one small part of an extraordinary night for Claxton, who came onto the floor hot and stayed that way. Before taking a breather with six minutes to go in the second quarter, Claxton was 6-of-9 from the field, including a 3-pointer, for 13 points. He finished with 17 points and four assists. "I don't think you guys in the New Orleans area saw me play last year," said Claxton, obtained in February for Baron Davis and troubled by a pair of groin pulls during the final weeks of the season. "When I got there, my head was a little messed up after getting traded, and I didn't play as well as I was capable of." DECISION TIME: Hornets owner George Shinn said Tuesday night he'd probably have to make a decision where the team will play next season by February, so that the team could begin a season-ticket campaign in New Orleans. The contract with Oklahoma City, which has a one-year option for next season, states the team must decide where it will play next year by July 1. </div> Source
Yeah, for real. Oklahoma City has been blessed with a young, excited Hornets franchise. If yesterday truly wasn't a fluke, then Oklahoma City is in store for a great season. It must be saddening looking down the road and seeing the Hornets moving back to New Orleans after groing close to them.
The Hornets right now in my opinion are like the Clippers even if they don’t win they have so much athletic young talent you will be in for a show. Oklahoma will give them a lot of support this season they have been deprived of NBA basketball since the league began. This might not last forever so they want to make sure to see as many games as they can. Though I doubt it, the Hornets might make Oklahoma there permanent home due to the lack of support they got in New Orleans.
