Nov 14 - Pacers president of basketball operations Larry Bird said they aren't talking trade anymore, but Jermaine O'Neal, who is making $19.7 million this season, has no problems with being moved.

"If that situation presents itself, then that's what it is," O'Neal said. "I told those guys this summer that if you feel like you need a situation that you can better this team, I'm all for it because they've given me the opportunity to really achieve some of the things that I wanted to achieve and also establish my name. It would be no hard feelings whatsoever." -- Boston Globe

[*]There were just two facts missing from much of the hoopla surrounding the O'Neal-to-Boston trade rumors last summer. One, the Celtics weren't interested in the deal once the Pacers requested Al Jefferson, and, two, O'Neal insists he never nixed the idea of coming to town.

"It never came from me," O'Neal said yesterday. "It never came from me at all. Me and Paul (Pierce) are very good friends. We've got the same birthday. We talk a lot. He comes out to my charity poker tournament in Las Vegas." -- Boston Herald

[*]Celtics small forward Paul Pierce knows exactly what Pacers power forward Jermaine O'Neal is going through.

Pierce spent the past two seasons watching the playoffs from home. O'Neal missed the playoffs for the first time in his career last season.

"I definitely feel for him," said Pierce, who spoke with O'Neal over the summer while they were in Los Angeles. "As a player, when you play so many years, you've been to a certain point to where you tasted that success, and Jermaine has tasted what it's like to be on a 60-win team and be a contender. ... It's tough to be in those situations." -- Indianapolis Star

I feel bad for O'Neal, he is just like KG, loyal to his team.
