Is it likely that if Rasheed Wallace is resigned that Ben Wallace is shipped off? Think about it, they'd have Rasheed and Elden along with the development of Mehmet Okur and Darko Milicic who I'm sure they'd like to give more minutes. Just curious what you guys think...
The more likely event is that Rasheed is NOT resigned...in which case nothing needs to change. Although if anything, Elden Campbell should be the one to go...if anyone wants him.
Detroit just wouldn't be the same without Big Ben. It should be Cambell being shifted off to another team.
I don't think there's any question that in the fivesome initially mentioned, Campbell is the odd man out. Couple that with Okur and Milicic perhaps sharing minutes at the 5 spot next season (maybe a 30/15 or so split), and there's no issue.
Big Ben? That's crazy, the Pistons are an example of a "team", they don't really have a definite leader, yes he can be considered their superstar but they love him their, they need him. Replacing him with someone like Campbell is kinda insane if you ask me, he'll be providing so much more for a much longer period of time.

They could just waive him, he's the odd man out in all of this.
Let's see should we keep keep Ben Wallace or Elden Cambell....Bye Ben!..Yeah right. Elden needs to leave Detroit..as soon as possible
Campbell never plays, why would Ben Wallace be shipped out if Rasheed Wallace is re-signed? makes no sense at all. Bit of an odd topic to be honest, the fact Rasheed can play so many positions is a big reason why he has been the main reason in Detroit's turnaround in form.
Why is this a question of Elden or Ben? Elden was brought in to supplement Ben, not replace him. Same with Sheed. And when Elden's contract is up, he'll get signed for much less. Remember, his current contract was from when he was putting up a near double double with Charlotte. I think the real question will be Memo or Sheed. Dumars has been trying to clear cap space in order to re-sign Mehmet Okur. Trying to satisfy Rasheed Wallace's contract demands could make that impossible.
There's a few reasons why I brought this up and it's certainly not Elden Campbell replacing Ben Wallace, infact I have no clue where that theory came from. First off, if Detroit resigns Rasheed Wallace than they already have an allstar caliber power foward, which is the postion Ben has primarily played this season. So why share minutes when you could move Ben and aquire pieces you ACTUALLY need? Not only that but you'd finally be giving Darko some more minutes next season to develop. Your rotation would look similar to this... C: Mehmet Okur (backup: Elden) PF: Rasheed Wallace (backup: Darko) Elden would actually play less because Darko has the ability to play center or power foward. Than you could possibly aquire a better suited small foward by trading Ben Wallace because Tayshaun Prince certainly hasn't produced the way Detroit had expected. Perhaps a small foward who's willing to take more shots and help Detroit on the offensive end. Making a similar trade I believe would help the team more so than hurt it. There defense would still be great, they would become a deeper team, and they would become better offensively which has been there downside. That's why I brought up possibly trading Ben Wallace...
You got good points but isn't Ben helping out Darko now? I know Offense is their problem but Chauncey, Rip, and R-Wallace is all the offense they need. This team is a real contender now and I just can't see Detroit without Ben next season. Detroit is the only defensive team I like watching and if Ben isn't there it would be like a real bad dream that is a reality. I don't see that happening.
if i was sheed i wouldnt sign back with detroit becasue they already have a solid power forward in ben wallace if i was sheed and i had to choose i would goto denver(i know its very unlikely) thats what i would. no one knows what they will do

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KingCarmelo:</div><div class="quote_post">I think the Pistons should trade Prince for Jamison.</div> Would Dallas accept that trade?I don't think so. Prince is a good player but not as good as Jamison. And Jamison's salary is alot bigger than Prince. There are too many problems with that trade.
