I think I speak for most of us, when looking at this particular group and seeing the individual skillsets these guys have, this is a talented team.
The "new" guys...it will be cool to see what they actually bring.
Mario....Baze.....Ant....GaryTrent..all look like potential contributors.
Which got me thinking...has there ever been a player you thought was gonna really be something, but oh were you ever wrong...(not talking. Greg Oden here)
Mine...was Elliott Williams a few years back. Thought he had perennial all star written all over him..
Anybody else miss?

I was drinking the Darius Miles Kool-Aid when he was traded here. I thought maybe he had figured things out but despite being so athletically gifted he just wasn't a very savvy player. Then he started having knee problems and when his athleticism started to go he had no other part to his game.

Walter Berry - was so excited when he dropped to #14 to the Blazers, but then a complete bust after being the college player of the year at St. Johns. Only lasted 3 years in the league. Very happy were able to dump him for Kevin Duckworth.

Q Woods.
But the most embarrassing one I thought would turn out to be starter quality was Ha Sin Jin.

And I’m the only one left on Meyers Island. I still think he’s going to be a very good backup or competent starter in the next couple seasons (for someone else).

My homer run strong!

I honest to God thought the trade for Damon Stoudamire was genius and that Stoudamire was going to be a “next level” star. This despite having seen his one dimensional, hot dog dad Willie play too many times to count. I shoulda been smart enough to know that the chickens would come home to roost......still wiping the egg off my face.

That 1986 draft for the Blazers was crazy though because they also took Arvydas Sabonis and Drazen Petrovic.

Randolph Childress
YES! Great pull! I really liked watching Wake Forest back in the day with Childress and Rodney Rodgers and then later with Childress and Tim Duncan his last couple years. He was another guy who had knee problems though so who knows what could've been.

Man, it's been like 10 or so years; but I've got to go with that one dude. Umm, what was his name??? Oh yeah, Anthony Tolliver. I always felt that sooner or later, he'd kick some major ass, playing for us......

The Blazers didn't draft him...he went undrafted. But, yeah I have wondered about him. He has a chance now doesn't he.

No we didn't draft him. He was a Blazer, and did play two games for us 10 years ago. That's why I chose him. He's gonna kick some major ass, and make me look like Einstein!

Nah. I still wouldn't look like Alfred. Maybe the hair, but that's about it....

Edit: So was @Wade Garrett just talking about people we drafted, or any that played for us? We didn't draft Miles, and a couple guys picked him.
