Well, that's a rather convoluted thread title...

Here's the deal, I recently moved into a new place, that's much bigger and nicer than my old place. It has a large loft area (21' x 16') that is the center (master suite at one end, other two bedrooms at the opposite end) of the second floor. It's a very nice, open space and I've found I spend the majority of my time there. In fact, at this point, I hardly use my downstairs living room. I've move my larger TV up stairs and mounted it on the wall a couple days ago, and ordered some new furniture yesterday.

And, now I'm trying to decide what to hang on the walls. I happen to have a large, hand-signed serigraph of Leroy Neiman's "The Stags Head, Dublin Bar". Here's what it looks like:

It's a large print (mounted size 38"x28") with a rather subdued palette and an unfinished, almost primitive character - not nearly as garish and "bold" as Neiman's more well known pieces. The size is very appropriate to the space and it could be hung in a couple different places.

And while this is the area where I watch sports, I also spend time with my girlfriend and kids there watching movies, etc. So, it's not a total man cave.

I bought this print 19 years ago, but never really had an appropriate place to display it. Now that Nieman has passed away, the value is currently in the $400.00 range, and likely to continue to appreciate.

So, what are your opinions? Hang it, or sell it and get something else?

It looks like a sports bar. Hang it in your man cave to tell everyone you are King of your Castle. It sends a message--This room is my personal space. Or maybe, This room is a space for anyone who wants to play the sports fan role with me and watch sports.

I actually like that piece a lot. And I am picky with art. I always love that unfinished look though. given the situation, I would have no qualms about hanging that up.

Or you could buy one of my paintings.....duh duh duh....

Thanks man. I have been making art my whole life, but have kept it completely to myself. I just recently started that portfolio and have made it a goal to try to set up shows and actually try to promote myself. Still haven't found a show, but at least I am trying! Thanks for the kind words.

I will let you know. So far, no one has been willing to take my art on. It will happen though.

Set up your own show at a loft down at first Thursday. I'm not sure how to do it, but I know a lot of artists do that.

The neiman is too busy if you have a tv in the room unless you have a bar there. Hard to determine without seeing what the room looks like and what your girlfriend looks like

The nice thing is my girlfriend likes to watch sports. She even watches college football when she's home alone.

Thanks, I'll probably hang it and see how I like it after a month or two. I do like it better than the more bold, over saturated color that is Neiman's signature style. That stuff looks good on a magazine cover, but a large print hanging on the wall would give me a headache after a while.

I like it, but it's not exactly kid appropriate.

The room is large and open. If placed appropriately, I don't think the Neiman will compete/clash with the TV.

The girlfriend is hot as hell and all eyes are on her whenever she enters a room. Neiman, what Neiman? I didn't see any Neiman - or a TV.

    Hang it. No hesitation.

Handclap, you draw some weird shit, but you draw that weird shit VERY well. If I was to offer some advice, it would be to draw fewer penises, lol...

Thanks...hehe. It definitely isn't for everyone. and not that I see anything wrong with drawing penises, but there are only 3 in that whole series. They are there, but it isn't exactly PENIS land or anything.

Hey Prunetang, how can we buy your music? Both the old ones and the newer ones.

If you haven't heard them, his songs are weird and great! I love them! After about 3 listens, each song grows on you.
