We lost Elijah Winston and Talona Hufainga to USC under Mario(granted that Mario just took over before signing day) - it was really Taggart who lost them. Hufainga was a big recruiting loss at the time. Chase Cota should've been a Duck and probably would've been under Lanning. I do remember a very significant recruiting loss that Bellotti had and that was Bryce Bohlander to UCLA. He was a all-american tackle out of McNary I believe and he started at UCLA from day one.

I feel like this could kill sports at a lot of smaller schools. They will decide it’s just not worth it. Like when I was at PCC they had a men’s and women’s basketball team. Are those two teams going to expect compensation? Nobody is showing up to watch them.

You can get a free education at community colleges in Oregon. So you get an extra couple years to play basketball and more of an opportunity to earn a scholarship as a juco transfer.

Those kids are playing because they love the sport.

I’ll be absolutely shocked if 13 teams have a better DL than Oregon

You’re thinking logically. These new lawsuits are opening Pandora’s box. Schools won’t want to expose themselves to any kind of liability. Do you think WNBA players are being logical when they complain about pay while playing for a league that’s subsidized the NBA and operating at a loss every year?

While I've high hopes for the DL, honestly it's probably the least settled position group Oregon has. Burch is a proven stud at one DT & transfer Jamaree should be able to hold it down at Nose, but after that there are a bunch of we shall see situations. Kenyon Ware-Hudson has been oft injured and okay when not. Uiagalelei, Winston & Tuioti flashed promise as Freshman but were run over when Jordon went down in the Pac 12 championship & then there are a whole lot of highly rated guys who've yet to put much or anything on tape at this level. For me it's fingers crossed that this will be a position group of strength, but I'd love to hear why you're so optimistic.

Because Oregon is going to be forcing a lot of the teams they play to play from behind which will make teams one dimensional. And the secondary should force quite a few coverage sacks.

Now if they were saying “most talented” DL, that may make slightly more sense… but I would struggle to believe Nebraska has a top 5 talent-wise DL.

I assume best DL meant most productive.

I anticipate A'Mauri Washington to have an impact role in this upcoming season.

Ashton Porter and Terrence Green were solid 4 star and I've read that coaches are high on the potential of Johnny Bowens who was also a 4 star. He's in the same mold as Xadavian Sims who is coming as part of the most recent class and who Tosh compares favorably in terms of utility to Brandon Dorlus(who played early). There is a lot of talent excluding Rushing, Breland, and Jericho Johnson whom all could easily see the field as well.

I was very excited about landing him. I recall his tape and remain optimistic though he didn't see much action last year. Definitely has the size and ability to make an impact which could be said of a lot of the DLman that they've landed the past couple years. Dorlus is leaving some big shoes to fill.

    All great points!

As long as the coaches are able to identify the talent in the room, I would suspect we'll be keeping the best 1-3 DL in each class, while the others will hit the portal. Rinse and repeat.
