Mike Riley did the exact same thing, and UW had to self-report a similar violation because of a basketball recruit last fall. A UW assistant coach mentioned a PSA in a Sports Illustrated article. Also ... Mike Bellotti, keep your fucking mouth shut. I hope Chip cuts him off at this point.
I think that Lane Kiffin txted an ESPN reporter about a recruit on signing day... he only used his first name ("Nelson", I think) but... this seems to be pretty common even if it's not allowed. Presumably Oregon won't get in too much trouble. Ed O.

It's a big scoop for Ken Goe, though. I'll be shocked if he leaves this scandal out of tomorrow's print version of the O. Canzano will likely follow with a moralistic sermon about how Chip should have known better, and how this proves that he was right to call Chip a liar.
This just makes me laugh! If the Ducks get slapped with penalties for this garbage it's only because the rest of the country is worried the Ducks are now LEGIT and doing it in large part with only 3* and 4* athletes. Imagine what they could do with Bama,LSU, FSU, OSU, and USC's 5* pedigree? 45K in services paid to 3 scouting agencies... Really? That's it? USC blows that on a weekend for recruits in the clubs and women, don't even get me started on houses,cars and cell phones.... LSU and Bama blow that in a year on "postage" to their kids..... Auburn bought Cam paid it through his dad and they got a Heisman and a National Championship out of it. Everyone knows that Auburn spent a hell of a lot more than 45K to secure Cam. His dad was shopping him at a 100k before he attended Auburn. Think about this, he picked a never have been that great Auburn team over LSU and Bama.... I'm sure it was for the campus and academics! HAHAHA! The only reason I don't think he ended up at LSU or Bama was because he was such a knuckle head at UF they thought he might not pan out. Does anybody think that if we were in to BUYING players we wouldn't just get Uncle Phil to pay that bill and it would be untraceable!? It's not like we don't have wealthy alumni.....I'm sure we could do a bit better than 45k knowing that Nike is in every house in America! HAHAHA! This is a sad witch hunt from a sad organization that death sentences the SMU's, TCU's of the world and turns a blind eye to the gross payoffs of the traditional power house teams that have the NCAA in their back pocket to begin with.... So you might ask who got this whole ball rolling to begin with? Don't ya think there are a few teams that don't want to see the Ducks on their bowl game schedule in the next couple years? I can name a handful! Something to think about NCAA? You might not want to piss of Nike, big business can make up their own sanctions too! lol, so true. These accusations have came about in the past 2 years. That doesn't account for the other 6 or 7 beatdowns taken place by the Ducks over the pups.
