Unbeaten Oregon upsets No. 18 Georgetown

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">WASHINGTON (AP) -- Aaron Brooks scored 15 points, and Oregon made up for poor shooting with hustle and rebounding to improve to 6-0 with a 57-50 upset of No. 18 Georgetown on Wednesday night.

Oregon was better than Georgetown in nearly every facet of the game, but they couldn't hit their shots until midway through the second half. The Ducks never had anything close to a comfortable lead until a 10-3 run gave them a 53-44 lead with 1:36 to play.

Bryce Taylor scored nine of his 14 points in the second half for the Ducks, who are 6-0 for the first time since the 2002-03 season. The victory was also the first ever for Oregon on the road against a ranked team in the Eastern time zone. They had previously been 0-7 on such trips.</div>

My honest first reaction to this was "Wow, GTown must be worse than we all thought", but this is also a big statement for Oregon. This has been a very talented team for the past couple years, but they couldn't beat the big boys or win close games. Winning at Georgetown like this is a big step forward, and maybe now they'll have the confidence to play like many of us think they can.

The Ducks are really underrated, playing in the Pac 10 they don't get much attention, but they have arguably one of the top backcourts in the NCAA. Their veteran team knows how to win ugly.

Hoyas better beat Duke, or else they'll have 3 losses early on and fall behind a deep Big East Conference.

It could be argued that Oregon has the best backcourt in all of college basketball. They're legit. We've all been waiting for them to break through, and now it's looking like this is finally that season. My favorite player on their team is Leuunen. He's so versatile and crafty, just my kind of player. I wouldn't count the Ducks out of Final Four contention; we've seen all year how great guard play can boost a team (Butler, anyone?), so the Ducks have a real shot at going deep in March.
