I know that what is going on in Houston is terrible, but shit is burning here in the NW. Check out this map. Fuck. Just a couple of hours ago I took these photos from my backyard. Do you see that tiny tiny black dot on the right side of the bottom photo? That's a helicopter for scale. This shit is about 15 miles from where in staying. This is a really bad fire season. It is so bad here in Douglas county that they are only putting resources into fires over a certain size.
Oh, and I filed this under "religion" because I am a follower of the Lord of Light (or Lol as I like to call him).
It's so bad I can't even be outside for that long, the smoke is terrible. Plus it's supposed to be like 100 degrees this weekend, 100 degrees in September.
Yep. The sky is looking like Sasha Grey. I'm in the backyard typing this and it looks like it's snowing right now with giant chunks of ash falling everywhere.
The air quality sucks, but try to remember that fire is actually not all bad; this is part of a healthy forest ecosystem. Once it starts pissing rain in another month or so it'll sort itself out.
They just closed I-84 in the gorge due to fire. Some dipshit was playing with fireworks and now the Columbia gorge is ablaze. The ash falling in the Portland Metro area reminds of when Mt St Helens blew, lol.
