did you see it? 99-94 for Orlando.
T-Mac was hottttt...43 points and 7 rebounds... a minute before the end it looked like the pistons could make it a least into the OT, but Billups missed a lay-up.. can't wait to see GAME 2

Man, Ben Wallace had a right to cry to the refs....they gave him no calls....everytime he went to rebound, Declerq kneed him in the back...jeez, these refs need some guidance

lol, it's the opposite. i watched the game and holy crap the refs giftwrapped the game to the pistons, but they just didn't take it. how the hell does chauncey billups shoot around 18 ft in 1 game, while tmac shoots around 10(i say around, because i don't the exact amount). here's a couple of instances that the refs fucked up (all of these are in the last 5 min or so)

the last foul on declerq was a charge, but they called blocking on declerq.

ben wallace pushed giricek down, and giricek gets called for the foul.

The call they called jump-ball, which was clearly a foul on big ben.

The one where there was a no call when someone(i think it mighta been williamson) had his elbow around garrity's neck going up for a rebound.

my dad said it's 8 on 5 out there(the other 3 were the refs). 47-25 in ft. is just bs.

Great game for the Magic, but I hated the ref calls. :-x Can't wait for Game 2 though.

I still think opposite sports....the refs gave ben 2 calls out of the 15 or more they didn't....They love T-Mac....Cliff got all ball on one foul and they called it....either way....the game wasn't gift wrapped for the Ppistons....think what u want

Pistons could not stop T-Mac. And when it was 96-93 the ball bounced off DeClerqs back then out of play but the refs gave the Magic the ball. [IMG] We could have won that one if we had some better refs...

comeon. give the magic their credit. they beat the pistons. the were the better team on this particular occasion. the refs wernt great but u cant say that the pistons were just getting screwed any more than the pistons. VERY few NBA or any pro sport game is own or lost by the officials and this certainly was not one of the few ecxeptions.

i dont know why eveyone is on the pistons all they have is ben, if ben gets hurt theyre a lottery team, i gve them cretit for having a deep bench and definding but the magicequaled them on defence and no one stoped tmac.... tmac will probaby average 40 ppg in the series, i did have the pistons to win and i still do with big ben but dont be surprised if the magic win

just to tell u, but on that play, whoever the pistons guy was, was all over declerq's back and that shoulda been a foul instead of the ball going out of bounds.

i think that the magic are gonna win in 6. i feel that the pistons really don't have much scoring, and they shouldn't get all the refs calls next game. that's what kept them in the game.

btw pchotsauce, how the fuck can u say that the game was even with the refs if one team shoots 22 more ft than the other? i'm just wondering, cause to me that says that there is a huge difference in the refs. and there is no way that the refs like tmac if chauncey billups shoots 7 more ft than tmac and rip hamilton shoots the same amount. i don't know about u, but i think that tmac is 100 times better than rip and billups. they just aren't on the same level. isn't refs supposed to give the better players more calls?

i understand completely that there were calls that the magic got away with, but not the same amount of calls the opposite way. i know i'm sounding like a poor sport and stuff, but damn the refs are in the pistons favor, but it doesn't matter, this is the stat that shows it all

fg %
magic-47 %
pistons-31 %

who's the best defensive team now ? 8)
