Ok I remember a year ago he was on the Steven A. Smith show. And Steven
asked him if he was playing in todays game in his prime of course. How much points would he average.

Oscar said 50 easily. Shooting good shots of course. Does anybody think he could average 50 points in todays game while he was in his prime. I personally think he could get the same averages as far as points are concerned in todays game. 30+ points but not 50. My dad thinks he could.
But their dribbling back then with just mostly there right hand. I can't see him getting past defenders with those kinda of handles they used back then.
He's smarter player then everybody playing in todays game. Regardless, the limited ball handling and the fact that he didn't really dunk at all according to the ratings in the games would allow me to believe he could
go Chamberlain wit it in todays game.

I think he could do the same damage scoring wise. But no way he could average a triple double for an entire season at 6'5. If he could get 30.8 ppg, 12.5 rpg, and 11.4 apg in this day and age. He would be HANDS DOWN GOAT!

Anyways Wilt was the most arrogant. I remember him being on Howard Stern in 97 and said that if Michael Jordan was playing in his days he would be coming off the bench. And I heard he was an A-hole twice to my father who wanted his autograph. Mad because he was probaly trying to get his 19,000 woman at that time or sum ish. I respected what he did as a player. But as a person I never really cared much for him since I was little. That MJ thing really peeved me off lol.

lol @ MJ coming off the bench.......it's just the "old man" talking, I wouldn't pay that much attention to it.........I respect everything that guys like Wilt, Russell, Oscar, etc. did for the game but I must say that the "my team would easily beat the bulls and Lebron James would be a towel boy in my day" talk makes them seem a tad bit "bitter" in some ways........

Oscar is very cocky, even when he played, he wasn't really someone that people liked a lot. He's not smarter than every player today, that's a disrespect to a lot of guys, that's not to say he wasn't a smart player, but he doesn't have some basketball IQ advantage in relation to the top guys in that area. He obviously wouldn't average 50 points, he's not a better or more dynamic scorer than Jordan was, or than Kobe is now, so if they aren't averaging that, how would he? Also adding that he played in an era with a much faster pace and his highest PPG average was 31.4 PPG in 45 MPG, why would he now go up? He had good enough range, so the three point line should help him a little, and he was already getting to the line 9-10 or more times a game when he played, so he would still get that now. Playing now he'd probably have a slightly lower career average (23-24 PPG) as he likely wouldn't have played 44-46 mins his first few seasons, more like 41-42. He would also then peak at about 27-28 PPG.

He would still be a very good (great) player, 25+ points, 6 rebounds, 9-10 assists is the kind of production he would give, though he was and would be a guy that had the ball in his hands A LOT.

LOL @ Mr. Tripple Double [IMG] . Today guys are stronger, faster, and game is much more improve than in his era. If Oscar is to play in today game, he would NEVER be in the ALL NBA top 10 as many people claimed he was. But he will still be a legend.

The talent level in the NBA is raised every single year. I think rediculous how anyone could say that players back then could even be considered all stars now. The things that those guys did back then was great for the time, but they dont really even compare to players now.

....and if guys now were born in the 1930's, or 1940's, a lot of them wouldn't even make the NBA. The stars remain stars no matter what gap we're bridging. Wilt played against Kareem, performed well against him, and was the only guy people remember blocking the sky hook, and he blocked it twice in the same sequence. Kareem played against Olajuwon when he was older, and did very well against him. Olajuwon played against Shaq as a rookie, and beat up his team as Shaq also got his own against him. So these guys don't just become scrubs.

The average player in the league is better now than before, but the stars are still stars.

^^^I agree...I always say that the human body hasn't gone through any major evolutions within the past 30-40 years.
