Well, for the price of a single-family home here in Southern California, you could have bought the Silverdome in Detroit. The Silverdome was sold for $583,000!!! http://www.detnews.com/article/2009...411/METRO02/Silverdome-sale-price-disappoints
I bet there were requirements for ownership, but that's pretty cool. Buy a stadium for under 600K? If I had the money, I would've done it. Then turn it into a big ass storage place or something. Imagine the parties.. I bet there's a lot of stuff in it that alone could be sold for more than the 600K.
I stayed at this hotel right across the street from there last summer. We walked over cause they were giving tours! That place was a fucking death trap! I thought a giant strip club would be sweet!
I imagine the taxes on it are a ton, but how awesome would it be to buy that, and then have pickup games of football with your friends there? Is their scoreboard still there? You can probably use it as a giant TV. Charge 1 dollar for people to come in and watch the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, PPV fights, etc. I saw recently it was for sale, and had thought about how quickly I could line people up to buy it. Apparently there was a buyer last year for like 10 million or more that somehow fell through. Ouch.
