I have been following the blazers since the late 80s, and I can't think of another team with such a contrast between their home record and road record: Charlotte - Jan. 23, 2010: 18-4 at home 3-16 on the road 21-20 overall weird, just weird. I really don't know what to make of it.
In the 2007-8 season, the Blazers were 41-41. 28-13 at Home and 13-28 on the road. Sometimes it's just a confidence thing. Most of the time it's young teams that play that much better at home than on the road, although the Charlotte isn't really that young. I suspect those numbers will start to even out. The Bobs have won 9 of their last 11 with road wins at Miami and Cleveland. They probably aren't as good as their 18-4 record at home would indicate, or as bad as their 3-16 road record.
The Bobcats are an example of not letting the coach also be the GM. Larry Brown fell in love with 5'10" Augustin during a workout when 7'1" Brook Lopez was there to be had.
