If this is true, it will cause me to lose a little respect for him. Perhaps I shouldn't, but I expect better.
He's a solid player, who is a douche-hole. So if this is true (not saying it is or isn't), it seems to fit right in with his reputation of being a douche.
Can you imagine the shit storm if someone like Dirk, Love or Nash said they wanted a white coach? Even if it was just a rumor. This would be all over ESPN, FOX, etc. Reverends Al and Jesse would be on top of the NBA office steps demanding answers.
I wonder if it was in response to a certain question, or if he just blurted it out. I would assume there is more to the story.
Obviously, he thought Del Negro was black before arriving in LA. It's understandable that he feels cheated.
So be it then but I would like to know Paul's motive behind wanting a black coach just out of curiosity.
It would set a good example for the citizens of Los Angeles if the coach were black and lasted for years. Except for Tom Bradley, their black leaders (Police Chief, Lakers coach, USC coach) have been short-timers.
It's like if Rubio were drafted by Atlanta but refuses to play there because the city is too black. Double standard much?
Although I dislike the Clippers (probably empathy due to decades of suckage) less than the Lakers, Thunders, etc., I'd love to see them hire Nate to destroy their offense. He may be black, but I bet CP3 would loathe playing for him before the all star break. Anything to weaken a conference rival... BNM
