Rarely does a talented player turn around being a shithead to being a leader. Something switched for Zach in the last two years, and I only wish he could have been that player in Portland. Chris Wallace is a genius for re-signing him.
Love seeing Z-Bo play this well. He's done some really stupid things in his life and to the outside world it looks like he has turned things around, hopefully he keeps it up.
I do not think ZBo has changed as much as it would appear. I think Memphis is just a really good fit for him. The media is not going out of its way to find drama and their fanbase could probably care less about his offcourt actions. They were playing "Whoop that Trick" during the intermission last night. His play has improved and they have been able to put a team around him. Kudos.
Z-Bo for Channing Frye...... I'm glad he has blossomed into a leader, and he still has (by far) the best low-post game in the NBA.
Oh come on now. Zach's Hoop Family is still directly involved in a murder in Portland, and got away with a gang rape downtown. You're not that out of the loop. Ask my man Curtis about it, and how he can't get another club managing job because of those shitheads....
He was that player in Portland. Back when he had good teammates here. Let me take you back in time..... 2003 NBA Playoffs Blazers trail Mavs 0-3 Cheeks inserts Zach Randolph into the starting lineup Blazers win Game 4. Randolph has 25 points and 14 rebounds http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200304270POR.html Blazers win Game 5. *Randolph has 22 points and 9 rebounds http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200304300DAL.html Blazers win Game 6. *Randolph has 21 points and 10 rebounds http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200305020POR.html Blazers sadly lose Game 7. *Randolph has 14 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 assists (maybe he passed too much) http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200305040DAL.html It sucks we lost the series, but we were 3-1 with him as a starter. *He was a great player then, he's a great player now.
He does. I can't think of anybody better at this point. Duncan is going to have to bring it for 7 games.
And Steve Francis. Who we had to pay $30 million to get rid of. There HAD to be a better deal out there....
PDX ----> to NY NY -----> to Clippers Clips ---> to Memphis It took 3 cross country moves to finally shake the Hoops Family.
Funny how Roy supposedly went to the FO and demanded that Z-Bo be sent off the team. Who would have known that Z-Bo would have a longer career.....
ZBO ruined two other teams before Memphis too, though. At least he got the Clips Blake Griffin, though.
Is that even known for sure? NYK and LAC both shipped Zach's ass out, too, for pennies on the dollar.
Yes. http://www.celticsblog.com/2008/9/12/645174/one-more-reason-to-love-br I don't think Z-Bo would be who he is today if he would have stayed in Portland, but still.
Both those two teams were already ruined. They were awful and poorly run and there was no way he could've helped them. And he didn't cost them anything. He didn't ruin anything. Cuz they were terrible organizations making terrible decisions. Let me take you back to 2003 when he had good teammates..... 2003 NBA Playoffs Blazers trail Mavs 0-3 Cheeks inserts Zach Randolph into the starting lineup Blazers win Game 4.
