Shape, did you really think Kidd would have a huge impact on the Mavericks anyway?

Hollinger's article on the subject is very compelling.

I don't think he necessarily helped us.

Seriously, some of you should read that JH article, I was really starting to question the Kidd trade.

Eitherway, I don't see the Mavericks doing anything this season with or without Kidd. He makes over 21 million next year too.

I still think trading for Kidd makes the Mavs a better team currently. I don't believe he'll take them to the next level by any means, but I believe they'll be a more dangerous team with him than without. Now obviously if this trade still goes through, their future will look somewhat bleak. Throwing 20 million a year at a 34-35 year old point guard can screw them up financially.

Devin Harris is by far a better scorer, and the Mavs have consistently ranked in the bottom tier of assits, even with Nash I believe.

Kidd isn't really suited for the team imo. The Mavs also seem to pawn their future as well.

I'm not afraid of Dallas either way, but of all the players involved in the deal I found it hilarious Gump is the one calling the shots.

Dallas might have to end up giving more now to NJ to get George to agree to go there.

Dallas front line is no match for Bynum/Gasol with the only player with any size being Dampier on their roster.

The Mavericks might actually better with Harris, for the plethora of reasons JH stated.

If I were Dallas, I'd take a chance on another high risk player. PG isn't really a need at all.

I agree with you and maybe after further review so did Mark Cuban. He's a smart guy and I'm sure he knew he could play the Devean George Trade Veto card if he decided to change his mind on acquiring Kidd.
