This is my second straight OT thread, but this is a thread that I figured would be posted someway or another...

I don't see much incentive for Dwight to leave for Dallas, but for Paul, it would make some sense.

    I don't know.

It might be awfully tempting for Dwight.

He seemed really, really, really unhappy with the whole Lakers situation. He never wanted to go there to begin with, and the season couldn't have gone any worse.

Everyone talks about the huge amount of money that Dwight would be giving up by not resigning with the Lakers.

BUT, almost all of that difference is due to one less year. If Dwight in his mind thinks he will recover his health, then he may not put huge value on the extra guaranteed year. And, the larger raises the Lakers can pay will be greatly offset by Texas having no income tax, compared to California which has the highest income tax in the country.

If healthy (the big problem); a trio of Paul, Dirk and Dwight, with defender/shooter specialists surrounding them, is really great blend of complimentary talent, that I think looks better on paper than either of the L.A. teams had this season. Nash/Kobe/Pau/Dwight was a bad matchup on paper and even worse in practice. Paul & Griffin are a great offensive duo, and they had a deep team, but the roster is flawed in that only Paul can close out a game and take the big shots, Griffin doesn't provide enough defense, and Griffin and DeAndre Jordan are liabilities at the free throw line.

If Paul would go to Dallas too, why wouldn't Dwight at least consider Dallas?

Good for Dirk. Barkley did that in Phoenix too.
