I always liked Howell who is a rugged low-post player and brings an element of toughness. In only two games, he is averaging 21 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals, 2.0 blocks and shooting 72% from the field. The one early downside is 50% FT shooting but in a notoriously guard oriented league (PG teammate Pierre Jackson has 48 shots and 21 FTs in two games) he is making his presence felt.

I love how the dleague has alot of games on youtube that you can just watch. I'm hoping they have some Stampede ones soon!

It's a bit sad that Jared Cunningham is still slumming it in the D-league. The Mavs blew that trade during the 2012 draft, and then traded him to the Hawks and the 18th pick for Shane Larkin. The Hawks at least got Nogueria in that deal, and Dallas passed on Schroder for Larkin.

Atlanta didn't pick up his 2014-15 option. It's basically like drafting a Nolan Smith, but trading for him by giving up 2nd round picks.

I saw Cunningham play a few times at OSU and was impressed with his athleticism. He just came out too soon ala Corey Benjamin back in the day. Wish those guys would just wait.

Cunningham was drafted when he was 21, though. It's not like he was 19. Benjamin was an athletic freak. Cunningham seems like a tweener guard who has some skills. Hopefully he finds a role in the NBA.

Probably not though right? Too small to play that SG and no handles. Hope he saves that money from the Euro contracts.

Oregon has a tranfer a lot like Cunningham now named Joseph Young. 6' 3" SG who already looks like an all Pac-12 player, but will be too short for anything but a role player in the NBA.

Did you watch the Duck hoop game tonight? They scored a hundy!

Only saw that game against Georgetown a couple weeks ago. The HCP doesn't get the Pac-12 network OR CSN at home. A bit frustrating.

Cunningham is half an inch shorter than Wesley with like 5 times the bounce.

I think Cunningham still has a pretty good chance of making a roster. This is only his second year as a pro. He is pretty well rounded as a player. Good shooter, athletic, decent defender. Have not seen him play in the D league, but I would think he will get another shot after a few injuries around the league.

I went to probably 10-12 games during Benjamin's run at OSU. I'd say he would come crashing through the lane, leap above everyone else, and throw down a rebound off the iron at least once in each of those games. One game, at the Far West Classic, he did it like 4-5 times. Athletic freak is right.

That Far West Classic game was ridiculous - one long highlight reel for Corey. Jared leaving was especially tough given that had we had him last year, I honestly think we'd have been a tourney team. Without him, dumpster fire with no consistent ballhandler.
